For those of you who are professionals you will want to make contact with the professional associations in your field in your target province.

For example if you are an engineer coming to Manitoba you will need to get your credentials assessed through APEGM (The Association Of Professionals Engineers and Geoscience) and take 5 to 6 exams in order to practice as an Engineer here. The exams can take a year or two to complete. My wife is currently going through this process now. Its will cost about $8000.

So do yourselves a favour and do as much preparation in your home countries while you wait. Contact your Canadian professional association and find out what their requirements are to practice in the province you will reside.

If anyone needs any help finding that association I can try to help you locate it. Just don't think that as soon as you land you will be working in your field.

Hi, I've read your post, may I know how to contact the Canadian Professional Association?I am a teacher. Thank you very much.

hi everyone!

I was searching for anything about MPNP and I came across this forum. Thank you in advance for all the tips I've read here.

Here is my timeline:
Jan 9, 2013 - Submitted docs via courier
June 20, 2013 - Received AOR thru email
Aug 30, 2013 - Received an e-mail for my settlement plan to be sent through e-mail

I'd like to ask:
a. What is the next step after this?
b. Would the nomination come before AOR is received? I've read other's timeline and they usually get the nomination first.

Thank you very much and God bless! :)

Your sponsor already submitted settlement plan 2? If yes...next step is to wait approximately 3-4 mos. your sponsor will be interviewed and after a month letter of approval. After receiving your loa you will be instructed to apply for permanent resident visa and after submitting you will wait for 2mos AOR again.

Not really sure what you mean. Once you qualify under the MPNP you would land as a permanent resident but required to live solely in Manitoba for I think its 5 years.

The association of teachers depends on the province you are going to live in.

Here is the link for Ontario.

http://www.ontarioimmigration.ca/en/working/OI_HOW_WORK_TEACHER_CM.html

You may want to research teaching in other provinces since Ontario is saturated with teachers.

Hi Forever Victory,

I strongly suggest that once you got the copy of your IELTS, immediately scan and submit to mpnp's email. Do not wait for them to request as IELTS is really a mandatory for all.

You may not know.. you may be waiting for MPNP to request for your IELTS but they may not request it and rather give an ineligibility email (which we don't want to happen)..

So I really suggest to submit ASAP the scan copy once you got the paper result.
