will a TRV for tourism affect sponsoring

Hi,

My wife and I are both PRs, and our baby is born outside of Canada. After a few discussion, we decided first to apply a TRV for my baby and we both take a tourism visit to Canada first. Then if everything is settled we will start sponsoring our baby.

My question is, if we first apply the visa for a tourism purpose, is it going to affect the process of our baby's sponsoring in the future?

Thanks

No, but if the TRV is refused, just make sure you declare it in the sponsorship application to avoid issues. Good luck!

Thanks. since we have no attachment to Canada right now, and we both have jobs in our home country, I think a TRV is a best choice?

if you and your wife are PR in Canada, and currently living outside Canada, you cannot sponsor your baby born abroad......only PR living inside Canada can sponsor family members......applying for TRV will have no effect on sponsorship process for newborn.

Who can become a sponsor

i would explain in the TRV application that me and my wife are PR in Canada and planing to move to Canada permanently, and would like to bring our newborn with us, and while in Canada, then sponsor the newborn.....may provide any proof to show family is moving to Canada.

Thanks, the thing is we have not decided to move there permanently, there are still a few things in home country. So we are thinking of a tourism visa for us to visit the city we will move to and maybe settle a place first and then fly back to our home. In this case, should I arise in the explanation letter that we will sponsor our kid in the future, or should we just focus on the fact that we have jobs back home and we are going to leave Canada in a short time?

if you have not decided to move to Canada permanently....then don't mention moving here permanently with newborn in the TRV application.

When did you and your spouse land? How long have you physically been in Canada before moving back to your home country? What do you mean by tourism visit and then sponsor the baby if everything is settled?

I can only imagine that a TRV will most likely not be approved due to having parents who are PRs. But, you never know until you try.

Worst comes to worst, you or your spouse will need to move to Canada first, ensure you are meeting RO compliance, and then sponsor the baby. Depending on your answers to the other questions, you are looking at about a year of separation from your spouse if a TRV is not granted for the baby.

We landed last year stayed 3 months and got PR card and then moved back. By everything is settled, I mean trying to find a city to live, the house, job, and everything, if nothing goes well we may moved back again.

If a visa is most likely to be denied due to our resident status, I think it just makes no sense. And both parents being separated from a 6 months old baby is just inhuman. That's what I thought.

Both parents do not need to be away from the child. Only one PR parent is required to stay in Canada to sponsor. Not sure how that is inhuman. You and your spouse chose to live in your home country instead of settle in Canada and have the baby here. We’ve been fortunate to be accepted as immigrants in this country, we have to think our choices through and be aware what the consequences are. Just my opinion. Best of luck.

one parent has to be apart from kid and wife/husband, that’s inhuman, I mean.

Inhuman means cruel and barbaric. If you are referring to Canada or IRCC as inhuman, I believe you are incorrect. You had a choice to settle in Canada, look for a job and have the baby here but you didn’t. As someone who was away from my spouse while being sponsored, I can understand how you feel but Canada is not inhuman.
