Wife on student visa and i planning to sponsor her

I just got my pr renewed.
My wife is on student visa expiring in march 2019.
I am sponsoring her.wats the best way to proceed.
One thing is that my wife exams are scheduled in april 2019.can she take exams with open work permit or should be apply extension of student visa.Your guidance will be appreciated.

if you submitted inland spousal sponsorship and OWP and you receive AOR before march 2019....the PA will have implied status.....you may apply for visa extension just in case IRCC for whatever reason were to return your inland sponsorship so your spouse will remain in status as the OWP will not be approved if your spouse is out-of-status

Can we submit the open work permit and sponsorship now and by mid December request extension of student visa.
Secondly can she continue to study with implied status or should we request extension of student visa in spite having implied status.

you may submit the open work permit and sponsorship now ( OWP is approved within 4 months) and apply extension of student visa now.....visa extension to cover her exams and any unexpected return of sponsorship from IRCC.

My wife got her OWP and has already submitted and passed her medical test last week
However she is still on Student visa and it expires on 20th of March while her exams ends on 27th March 2019.
Should we still request extension of her student visa?

Her OWP doesn't have any effect to her study permit. The only difference is if her PR got approved and landed BEFORE her exam, then may be she doesn't need anything to be done.

Try your question on the international student section.
So your question is really about having an expired student visa by the time she needs to take her exam.
And if she needs an extension for the exam.

I have no idea. I think other international students may know that's why I suggest you to post at that section.
I have never been an international student in Canada.

Her study permit is no longer valid. She changed her status to worker.

She can't apply for a study permit extension when she doesn't have a study permit. She can apply to change her status back to student. Note that if she is studying now, she is doing so illegally.
