Did you have any chance to keep the PR CARD, or just hand in the expired one?dpenabill said:The notice for the oath typically states that the applicant must bring the supporting documents much the same as to the test and interview.
In practice, however, it appears that oath officials only check and collect the PR card . . . that is how it went at my oath ceremony as well.
I brought the documents as instructed, and had a couple of them in hand, and the official (same woman as who interviewed me two days earlier at test event) said "all I need is your PR card." Same for those in line in front of me, and following me.
And the reports in forums are generally consistent with that as well.
Nonetheless I would bring all documents instructed but not be concerned about any further review let alone assessment of them.
Note, however, it is not over until the oath has been taken. Probably better to not take much for granted.
Mostly, however, show up, deliver the PR card, take the oath, enjoy the day.
During oath ceremony CIC people will keep the PR card regardless its expired or not.superfellow said:Did you have any chance to keep the PR CARD, or just hand in the expired one?
Really?? I was under the impression that you must surrender your PR card at oath ceremony due to the fact you are no longer PR. Also that PR cards are properties of CiC thus have a right to ask for them back if they chose to keep it.thecoolguysam said:During oath ceremony CIC people will keep the PR card regardless its expired or not.
Whoops. A brain fart. I completely missed the "CiC" part in the post. Sorry. My bad.lenium said:That's exactly what he said. CIC PEOPLE will keep it. CIC PEOPLE = CIC.
As others already noted: CIC requires applicants to surrender their PR card.superfellow said:Did you have any chance to keep the PR CARD, or just hand in the expired one?
