What happens when a PPR deadline expires?

Our PPR deadline is 40 days.

Unfortunately, we never received the instructions/deadline. It has been almost 90 days now and we just found out. So basically our deadline expired 50 days ago.

Anyone know what happens to an application once the PPR deadline expires?

Manila Visa Office.

Thanks.

Congratulations on the PPR!

Your application should still be open. They would usually reach out to to follow-up and warn you that if it's closed you would have to reapply before closing it.

How did you find out about the PPR? If it was through GCMS notes or a third party and you don't have instructions on how to submit it, send the VO a case specific enquiry explaining the situation and asking for instructions. If you just missed the e-mail, send your passport in ASAP (or drop it off) per the instructions and include an explanatory letter.

If the applicant's medicals have expired, consider asking them to extend the medicals if at all possible but also offer to redo them if necessary. If they are expiring soon, depending on how fast you can land you may need to bring this up in your letter also.

Yes, we are very eager to hear how it is that you missed the communication (and how you came to find out). We are dealing with the same Visa Office. Thanks!

This cannot happen because we cannot receive their e-mail. They closed our file because we didn't communicate to them anything. We didn't communicate anything to them because we did not receive their e-mail nor did we know they ever sent anything.

Please do not congratulate on the PPR, we never received it or saw it or heard it or smelt it or touched it. The only reason we know the file was closed because the PPR deadline expired is because the MPA asked for an application status update and they told her it's closed and they sent a PPR that we never replied to or communicated anything to them.

She could have been in Canada by mid September. Now they have to go through the process of reopening the file, asking for another medical, etc.

Furthermore, they have to re-send the instructions and hope we can actually receive them. If we don't receive them again, we have to wait 2 goddam months before the MPA will request another status update to enquire if they did indeed resend the PPR. What a fucking waste of time, when they can just e-mail the shit to the MPA and she can forward it to us, it would be fucking instant. Their goddam system sucks shit. They only want to send it to the registered e-mail address and if it doesn't work, they'll spend what, 10 years trying to send it even though it's clear the email is not getting through? Incapable imbeciles.

YES it sucks to be in your shoes. But it's called "Privacy of Information". While your MP can investigate the status of your application, he or she is not privy to sensitive information that may be sent back or forth in such an email. Even as I am sponsor (in our case) we made sure I was an "authorized representative" such that I WOULD be privy to anything related to my spouse's application.

Also for a PPR, they will call the person as well.....i don't see how you didn't get 1)an email, 2)a letter or 3)a phone call.......they try all certain ways to reach people before they just close your file.

Apparently not.

That one missed e-mail will cause months of delays. That's just unbelievable. She could have been in Canada by mid September.
That's just unbelievable. Now everything expired. Deadline, medical, application closed... My fucking god...

We have the same situation - we found out that apparently they sent PPR via email in November...NO emailed has been received from them. We found out about this after requesting status update via mail and they mailed it. The deadline was a few days go according to the file. Also, the online status request showed Med results received in mid-December when according to the request form via mail they sent PPR and Med res received in November...What is the best option? Should we just mail the passport? Thank you

Send a case specific enquiry to the visa office. Let them know that you requested the GCMS notes (assuming that's what you mean by 'file') and noticed that it indicates that a PPR request went out in November but you haven't received it yet. Also explain the med results timing disparity. And therefore ask them to please let you know asap if they did request the passport because if so you'll send it to them immediately.

Good luck!
