Hi guys!
So we are expecting an application refusal. We are boyfriend and girlfriend, 3 years together, visiting each other every 4-5 months. We applied under sponsorship conjugal partner category. Since August 2018 I’m on stage eligibility reviewing. We make some research and I’m sure it will be a refusal. :(
Hi @lbft , really really sorry to hear that. But since it's not a fact, but an assumption, let's hope for the best!

Thank you. You are very kind.
But we figured out boyfriend &girlfriend are not conjugal partners. We applied in a wrong category.

I'm just reading again what I've read before:

You can sponsor a conjugal partner if:
  • there is a significant degree of attachment between the two of you, implying not just a physical relationship but a mutually interdependent relationship, and
  • you’ve been in a genuine (real) relationship for at least 12 months where marriage or cohabitation (living together) hasn’t been possible because of barriers such as sexual orientation, religious faith, etc.
So in IRCC terms, if there is no significant barrier preventing you from marriage, you can't apply under conjugal partners category.

When we applied I read a glossary from here
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/glossary.asp#conjugal_partner
After that we didn’t make any research, because it’s a very accurate describing bf & gf relationship

Hello Everyone, Sorry for the late reply. Yes it is alternative Dispute Resolution where you prove that the officer's refusal was not right and you prove and gather more documents to submit and present the concerns of the officer's judgment. I also got refused and I succeeded in my ADR. Thanks a lot everyone! I am truly so thankful. I will finally get to see him. I am at that stage of waiting for them to request more documents such as Medical and police check. I am wondering how long they will take for the request. My visa office is Warsaw.

Hi @lbft , I would really like to help you somehow, but maximum I can give is a couple of ideas.
You can order GCMS notes (if you haven't yet). It will help you to understand what's going on. But it's another month of waiting. But it would be useful to see officer's notes anyway.
You can withdraw your application. In this case you will not have refusal history. In general if you don't have refusals, it's easier to reapply later, you will be required less explanations. But of course to withdraw an application not knowing the result is risky (in case it will be approved, we never know).
After withdrawal you can get married, if it's an option for you, and reapply as a married couple. You will not need to wait any time because married couples do not require to have any time after marriage and before they apply.
And there is always an option to wait the result, and in case of a refusal, to get married and reapply.

I really wish you good luck!

Can you please let me know what kind of documents did you submit when they asked for documents? Also, did you hire a lawyer or just did it yourself? My husband case got denied for the same reason as you, just want to fight for it and your guidance will really help me. Please let me know.
