I'm a Canadian citizen, living in Russia. My wife is Russian, so she will need to send her physical passport later.

I'm compiling proof of intent, which I hope to send to them by DHL tomorrow, so they'll get it either Monday or Tuesday.

What I've got so far:
-Plane tickets
-Health insurance quotes (since I've been out of Canada for a while)
-A letter from my employer stating that my contract expires at the end of next month, that I am leaving the country shortly thereafter, and that I have not signed or been offered a contract for 2015-2016.
-Currency exchange receipts, showing that I've been exchanging my rubles into Canadian dollars
-Job applications (I've applied to 8 jobs, most of them government.)

What do you think, is that good enough? I hope so, because I have no idea what else I could submit!
Can you show any proof of accomodation arrangements for you, that might help as well? I don't know your situation, maybe proof of owning property, rent agreement or letter from family saying you are staying with them. Or even show you are just looking for a place. My brother in law as an intent to return only sent in job applications and proof of his mortgage in Canada and that was enough for them. No plane tickets or anything else, so to me your proof seems pretty good. Only my opinion based on my in-laws case though :)

In our original application, we included a copy of my plan, including the dates and timeline of my return, as well as a letter from my parents indicating their support and that we have a place to stay.

The e-mail request said to submit proof other than a letter from my family, which they already have.

Now I've also got to figure out how to send it. The e-mail said we could e-mail them, but that "you may send attachments up to 9MB". Is that per attachment, or total? Could I send them 2 e-mails? Russian passports are 46 pages, so I'm not sure how I can compress them into 9MB.

Here is the exact e-mail (with the personal info removed of course):
This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada.

Please be advised that in order to continue the processing of your application, you are requested to:

- evidence that your sponsor intends to resume residence in Canada (besides a letter/declaration from sponsor’s parents already submitted), i.e. proof that she has looked for or secured employment, evidence that she has set up residence, etc.)

- provide a copy of all pages of your passport by mail, e-mail (warsaw-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca) or by fax (48 22 584-3194). If a copy of passport is sent by e-mail - scan your passport pages in PDF (JPG is also acceptable). Our system will accept attachments up to 9MB only. If you need to compress your documents, please do so in ZIP format (this is the only format accepted by our system). There must be at least two blank pages in your passport. The passport should be valid for the next twelve months and should be the passport that you intend to use to enter Canada. Ordinary passports are the only type of passport into which a permanent resident visa may be inserted. Diplomatic, official and special passports are not acceptable.

Please provide the above within 30 days from the date of this correspondence.

I got an AOR from Warsaw on Nov. 17 (right after sponsor approval), and we got a request for my wife's scanned passport yesterday (Apr 14).
As for compressing 46 pages into 9MB - I just went through this, hopefully my "recipe" will help:
- Scan all pages at 200dpi (each page into a separate file)
- Use a PDF compressor on the results, I've used convert dot neevia dot com slash pdfcompress (sorry, apparently I'm not allowed to post links for some reason) at "high compression, low image quality" settings
- Stich the pages together (I use the free PDFill PDF Tools program)
- Results we about 8.5MB
- If you scan with a paper size smaller than "letter" (but something where the passport can still fit) I'm sure you can get it down even lower

I managed to make it all fit into less than 9MB. I got an auto-reply, so apparently it got through their system. I sent another e-mail after, asking someone to confirm receipt. Got an auto-reply to that also, but nothing else.

Now we wait some more.

We ordered GCMS notes a month ago, just recieved them yesterday and that was a dissapointment :D The notes are dated March 13th so basically you get info that is a month old which we were not aware of. First of all we found out that basically no one looked at our file since OAR in December, the only thing they did was update the sponsor's info for some reason in february. Security, criminality, and eligibility checks are not started, medical expired - no extention which we expected since everyone seems to get request for remed and ours expired in december.
The only thing that concerns me is that the file says the application is locked in on October 6th instead of when they recieved it in August, which may or may not mean my UK police certificate will be deemed expired and getting a new one is a real pain since I am back in Russia.
Another thing I found interesting is that it says extra documents shredded before the file is forwarded to the visa office - duplicate forms and excess chat logs. We have always been told the more proof the better while preparing our application and painstakingly collected all the proof we could and it seems the officer reviewing our file won't even see all of it ::) Guess more is not always better.
Now just hoping someone looked at our file for this past month :)

A question to all of you who recently got COPR / PR Visas from Warsaw:
Did the Warsaw office extend the validity of the visa past the 1-year validity of the medical test? (I know they have the option to extend by up to 1 year). Or was the PR visa issued strictly up to the 1-year medical test anniversary?
Basically, how much time did they actually give you to physically land in Canada, after the visa issuance?

In my case, wife actually, they validated it to the expiry of the medical. Her first medical expired in Novemebr 2014 so they asked for a new one which was done March 2015, her COPR is valid until March 2016. Hope that helps.

Thanks mcbeth! I'm gonna bug you with another question though... It says "VISA ISSUED: Waiting" on your profile, so I assume you don't have the physical visa yet. So how do you know the dates on your COPR? Do they send the dates in email? When do they send them - when they ask for the physical passport, or sometime later?
Basically, me and my wife are trying to plan some travel for the summer, and it all depends on when she'll have to land in Canada by, so I'm trying to figure out how soon in the process we'll know that date.

The expiry date was listed in the passport request email from the embassy. I just didn't get around to updating my profile info, it's done now, we have almost a year to get my wife here.

Without knowing your timeline I can't give you much more, but the embassy asked her for updated forms, photocopy of passport pages, police certificates, and medical. Within a week of them receiving all of that my wife received the official passport request that contained said expiry date.

Email the embassy and ask for an update, I think that's the most you can do at this time. They didn't always reply to our first enquiry and had to send a second or third. There were no delays between requests for my wife's documents, medical, passports, etc...so you deserve to know what's delaying yours.

I wouldn't worry too much especially if you know your interview is waived, it sounds like maybe your file got buried.

Thanks for ur advice mcbeth,,,hubby wanted to email the Embassy,,but the lawyer told it could delay the process...... :( :'( but I think so that it's the most we can do now..
Hubby called CIC 2 times,,but each time they told him different things, first time they told that the deadline of reviewing the meds at that time was up to 6 weeks,,the second time when he called they told that the deadline at that moment was April 27th,but it could be changed because of the turn... ???

That sounds like bad information from everyone, the medical results are electronic and my wife's second medical was reviewed immediately! Calling CIC at this stage is probably a waste of time as the matter is now with Warsaw, at least that's what I was once told when phoning CIC for some advice/information on my case. Lastly, why would emailing the embassy slow things down anymore than they already have for you? What if it speeds things up?

I hope you get something soon, I can't imagine fulfilling their request and then hearing nothing at all.

Hi Diana, can you tell me the correct address in Warsaw where you sent your documents (passport xeroxes ), we sent them to ul. Jana Matejki 1/5, 00-481, Warsaw, Poland, but after i found another address Embassy of Canada, Visa Section, ul. Piekna 2/8, 00-481, Warsaw, Poland. Now I am anxious about, as I do not know which of these addresses is correct for my case.
