So our time-line was this:
We send our application on 2015-11-06
My husband received AOR on 2015-12-25
My husband received SA on 2016-01-13
I received (in my personal email):
AOR from Warsaw on 2016-02-01
Request for interview on 2016-02-18
It said:
Email TITLE: Interview. (Your file number)
We refer to your application for a permanent resident status in Canada.
To allow this office to continue processing your application, it is necessary for you to attend an interview at the Embassy. Your scheduled interview will take place in Warsaw at XX:XX on XX March 2016.
Please note that this appointment will not be rescheduled. If you fail to appear on the date and time given above, we shall assume that you are either unable or unwilling to appear for an interview and will assess your application on the basis of available information.
You must report to the Immigration Receptionist at 08:45 hrs.
You should bring the following documents for your interview:
- additional proof of cohabitation/relationship to your sponsor (besides those already submitted), i.e. proof that you and sponsor have started to combine your financial affairs/assets, proof that you and sponsor resided together, proof of ongoing communication between you and your sponsor, e-mails, documents showing travel together, documents showing joint ownership of possessions, joint bank accounts, money transfers, and/or any other available proof of relationship.
- your original marriage certificate (with sworn translation into English or French)
An invitation to attend an interview DOES NOT GUARANTEE that an immigrant visa will be issued. Please do not dispose of any possessions or give up your employment until you have been issued an immigrant visa.
Please confirm your attendance at interview within 10 days from the date of this e-mail.
So, I confirmed by two emails and received automatically response, but I think, even if you do not confirm it, but show up on your interview day that would be OK, as long as you are present the time they want you to be present. I needed to fly from Canada to Warsaw for that, but it all turned good for us.
Has your wife received any email from CIC? If yes, then it will be quite tricky to proof that only this email hasn't come. If she didn't receive anything, then maybe it is possible to do something. It is quite automatic system, so the chances they entered her email wrong is quite low. I think when they scan the form with BAR CODE it automatically goes what you entered yourself into the system or I would assume that. It helps to eliminate spelling mistakes they might make if entering manually.
I would recommend to start preparing the new file,in case they refuse you anyway, you can just send new one right away. I think Warsaw is quite quick and to apply again would be quicker than going trough appeal, as your case is quite simple anyway and should be approved.
What I have realized now, that no matter if you think that you have a super strong case and you shouldn't be invited to interview, they might still choose your randomly and it is not the worst thing, as for straight forward cases they give COPR right away. They need to fill those interview slots with someone. I guess not a lot of fake relationships goes trough Warsaw, so real ones end up getting invited.
To be honest, after reading many threads, I think Warsaw office is one of the best and most efficient. Only good experience for me: speed, pleasant interview, etc.
