Dear Seniors..
Can you please inform how do they calculate the 52 days in the case of new immigrant.From the date of landing or when the application is sent by the immigration/landing officer to Nova Scotia. Secondly i have checked that Canada Post Standard Delivery time through standard/regular mail is 8-10 days depending upon the destination.For example in Vancouver case, Standard delivery time through regular mail is 10 days.
The processing estimate is the average time it takes to process 80% of the cases historically. So it really is a loose estimate, and doesn't factor in abnormal delays like the system upgrade the agent I spoke to mentioned.

You'll probably find that the number will continue increasing slowly each week as people who are caught in the delay start factoring into their calculations. Since it's historic only, the estimate will peak once they start clearing the backlog and people will be processed in less time eventually (and the number will start coming back down).

There's no really good way of predicting the future, but I would have thought that a one off delayed event could be included outside of their normal calculation. Apparently not though.

I would say that you have nearly zero chance of receiving your card before December 12th. Definitely make the necessary plans to travel without it.

Hi all,

I have received an email for my wife stated

'UCI: ******** This confirms that your application for your Permanent Resident card has been received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) on 2015/09/30.'

****NAME*****

When should I contact CIC?

You must notify Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) of any changes to your application. Examples of changes include:

Appointment or change of immigration representative or designated individual;
Decision to withdraw your application;
Change of contact information: e-mail, mailing address, telephone number;
You found your lost PR card - application for replacement is in process, card must be destroyed, replacement application not yet in process.
Changes to your address should be made through our online service at www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/change-address.asp.

How do I check the status of my application?

You may use your 8-digit Unique Client Identifier (UCI) number located on this correspondence to check the status of your application on the CIC website. Please visit www.cic.gc.ca/english and in the "Most requested" section on the right-hand side of the page, select "Check your application status".

How long will it take to process my application?

Processing times vary. You can consult the processing times by visiting the CIC website at www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-card.asp.

Please be aware that answering e-mails takes time away from processing applications. For this reason, unless your application has exceeded normal processing times, please limit your correspondence to notifying us of changes in your application.

Sincerely,

Permanent Resident Card Centre – Sydney

Does this means her PR card in process now?

How much time will get to deliver ad local address?

Thanks in Advance
I received d same letter. I also landed on September 30 th. When I called cic before they told me the application is already in process. So I don't know what this letter means now.

Hi guys! I have a question regarding the travel visa for new immigrants that don't have thier cards yet. I need to go out of the country for my vacation, I guess I'm not getting my card before my flight so I am thinking of applying for a travel document. Anyone knows how long it will take to process if I apply thru mail? Help please....thank you in advance!

Can you guys who are getting an email from CIC saying that their PR card application has been received please keep checking ECAS and let us know if you can see the status on there? Maybe they're actually getting around to putting the applications onto that site rather than keeping us in the dark.

When we got the AOR email way back earlier in the year, it took about a week for ECAS to activate. Might be the case with this one too. Then again, it might mean absolutely nothing. ;)

Dear Quink, since u are also a pnp, I would like to ask u if I decide to settle in other province different from d province that has nominated me, would that be a problem for me?

I already have changed my Canadian address from the nominated province to another province online for PR card delivery.

My understanding is that once you have landed and had your CoPR signed and activated, as long as it has nothing written in the conditions section you can do whatever you want.

From this page: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/newcomers/about-pr.asp

As a permanent resident, you have the right to:
- get most social benefits that Canadian citizens receive, including health care coverage,
- live, work or study anywhere in Canada,
- apply for Canadian citizenship,
- protection under Canadian law and the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

You've landed and are a permanent resident, so you can live wherever you want now. Your PR card is just a travel document - you have permanent resident status even without this. I don't see any problem with what you've done.
