Hi Emak. I would suggest applying for a travel document from India. Its a fairly quick process and VFS is aware of the procedures to apply for a TD. Its a lot safer than sending your PR card from overseas. The new PR card supposedly has an electronic chip with all personal information. Its not worth taking a risk and having it couriered. There is a slim chance of the card being confiscated in customs due to fraud and identity theft prevention. Hope this helps. I got my TD in one day (total 5 days from VFS). Good Luck.Emak said:Hi, I'm in a similar boat doing a short landing now and returning To India. Wanted to check a few things with you -
1) did you have any issues traveling without the PR cards? At immigration in Canada or in India?
2) how are you planning to get your PR cards shipped to you? Through courier? If so is it safe and has it been tried?
3) I've been trying to track my cards online but have had no success. I've entered the information and it says it cannot locate my application for some reason.
Would really appreciate your help and advice. Thanks!
I have the same feeling. I phone in CIC and they also said that my PR Card is dispatched 12th July 2016. I had photo request through email and CIC received my photo last 16th of June.vicky1207 said:Hello

In less than a month, they have produced my PR card. Kindly update when you receive your card and I will update the same.
God bless all.
