Waiting for PR CARD - 2015 / 2016

My partner landed at the start of June, and we got a request for new photos mailed the first week of August, ugh. Sent new ones in two days later, and feeling pretty frustrated. Do new photos restart the clock entirely, or is there some processing that has been done, or should we otherwise be expecting a shorter time? He crosses the border fine with NEXUS (we took his COPR and added it to his records), but every time we have to use a regular passport crossing back into Canada, we either get snark from the CBSA about not having a PR Card, or they just full on treat him like an American despite having the COPR in their hands, until we push back

Ours didn't...I think it is because they are requesting the photos because they took too long to review your application...just saying!..

My hubby took 61 days...long enough that he had to renew his DL for another 60 days...lol...landed April 29th...I think they have the summer students working right now so things are going fast....

It took us 54 days to receive it from the day we landed

Not if you included them with your application...but, if you applied prior to November 2015 there's a chance (perhaps a good chance) that the photos will need to be redone, since CIC changed the specs. This has caused ridiculous delays for some people in receiving their PR Card. You won't know for sure unless/until you get a letter from CIC asking for new photos.

I was just going to ask if anyone knew the current processing times. My husband landed in early June and we still don't have his PR card. He got a request for new photos a couple of weeks ago, so hoping it's not going to take another 40+ days for them to process it. I think that was the third separate lot of pictures we have sent them since we started the process. We will be incredibly happy to be finished with CIC for a while until he's eligible for citizenship!

Wife landed July 29 and just got an email asking for new pics

Husband landed July 23 and got pr card Sept 1, so 41 days in total

So frustrated!! My husband landed May 26 and we have been patiently waiting for his card! Finally had a day off together to phone, because I tried earlier, got through but because I was his representative ( even though I sponsored him) they wouldn't tell me anything. Got through to a very nasty woman who was very rude!!! She claimed they had sent an email a month ago for new pictures! When my husband got his pictures done before he left Tanzania they were measured to make sure they were the new required size! But she said they were unacceptable. We checked all through our emails and there was no email in either one of ours even in the junk mail and spam!! Conveniently after we got off the phone, there was the email dated today!!! So tired of all this crap and just want to be done!!

Ah, that might explain my situation with lack of PR Card being delivered for my wife. Unfortunately, my wife's email address that CIC has been hacked so we wouldn't know if they sent us an email and we can't call them either because we're outside of Canada. Thing is, both my wife and daughter went to the same photographer and got the exact same photo sizes. My daughter got a PR Card. My wife didn't...

I would be doing a case enquiry then @etienbjel and if you can use a different email address for the reply. Doesn't make sense that some pictures work and some don't! But this is the government we are dealing with!!

We called three times and got three different answers...does not make sense?...hehehe..this is CIC and what I have found is that they do as they please so it makes sense...we sent pictures last year in May, Sept and then again in Nov 2015...in June 2016, after he landed, a CBSA told us they were the wrong size.....the Nov ones that were sent to the Consulate in LA and we told him that...anyways the ones we sent in Nov are the same size as the ones we sent in Sept ...Hubby landed Apr 29th and got his PR card on July 15th...So if it doesn't make sense to a normal thinking person it makes sense when dealing with CIC...

Update: So CIC sent us an email after my enquiry (brother in law helped us restore her email). "The photograph does not meet the required specifications. It is therefore impossible to produce the card until you provide the following..."

My wife and daughter went to the same photographer, on the same day, had the same photo size, same everything except the face. I double checked the photos and specs before landing. My daughter got her PRC yet my wife has to do it again. Ugh! I can't wait to be done with these clowns.
