Waiting for PR CARD - 2015 / 2016

If you read the forum, some people claim that's what they do. You would just have to be careful that the card is not lost when sent to you overseas.

Canada does not have passport check leaving the country. The airlines check the passport as a matter of identity confirmation, and the PR card is not required. It's coming back that's the problem.

If you really need to travel back to Canada while the PR card is not available yet, you can apply for a permit at the local Visa Office. It's not that you cannot leave, just that it is a lot more problematic without the PR card.

I landed November 2015, the whole photo fiasco happened and I sent mine in March. May 19th they recd. and entered them into the system BUT I'm still waiting for my PR card.

I called CIC and they've sent a "request for update" to the Nova Scotia update. Is anyone else in the same boat of absolutely no information? I wonder if I'll ever get my PR card.

Here in BC, ICBC refuses to issue me a drivers license claiming that having no PR card means my status is unconfirmed and they can't issue me a license. I'm getting tired and frustrated. What do we do?

Hello All,

Just wanted to provide an update - My husband landed July 11, new photos requested August 23ish, and he received his PR card Oct 11 - exactly 3 months after landing.

Hopefully they sort out all the older ones that haven't received them yet..that's just crazy

We kept calling and emailing...we got three different answers when we called...and we had the same situation with ICBC...and you can get for actual MSP card either....Drive CIC crazy...we ended up having to update his drivers once before we got the card...

I can't even count the number of times I've called them. I keep hearing the same thing "please keep waiting, we have no update" - apparently CIC has sent the processing center an email about why it's taken so long and they are yet to hear back from them. That's all I'm waiting for :\

I hope they extend my drivers permit next week or I won't be able to drive to work :/

Not for this situation but we emailed the Immigration Minister as well as our local MP...we haven't heard for the MP but within a week of emailing we got some action...same with the Minister....our file had not been touched for 9 months..within a week we were getting emails from CIC...

Still no PR card for us! Going on 4 months. My husband spoke with Immigration a couple of weeks ago and they said he should have it by October. Anyone else who landed in JUNE still waiting for theirs?

Still NO PR card for my husband. He got an email last week to say the pictures we sent in August weren't good enough, so we've had to get another set done. I think this is the 4th set of pictures we have sent to CIC for his visa. Thankfully where he got the last set done gave him a refund. Sent the new ones on Wednesday by express post, so who know when we'll actually get the card. Will probably go through our MP to get it moving rather than sitting on someone's desk for another 2 months.

Yes we have..Landed in April 2016 when then it was 41 days...did not get the card until around 17th July...ICBC is really good and same with the MSP...MSP gave us his # and we had no problem using it...

my wife landed july 29th and then got an email end of August stating she needed new photos and we sent them in. Emailed and got a confirmation at end of Sept that they got the new photos..as of today nothing!

On this page (https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/?app=ecas) it says "You may use this service if you have ... applied for a permanent resident card."

Did anyone use ecas tool to check the status for a new PR card application?
