Waiting for Passport - Please add your case here

Hi all,

Quick question for those who have already mailed their passport to Ottawa. What envelops are you using to send your passport and what envelopes are you enclosing for Ottawa to send you your passports back? Instructions in the PPR email do not specify sizes and only say that the envelopes should be purchased from Canada Post.

I am thinking a letter-sized envelope (318 x 241 mm) to send the package to Ottawa and a self-addressed standard-sized envelope (260 x 159 mm) for CIC to send the passport and COPR back. That's CIC asked for when I was applying for an extension on my visa.

My only concern is about the COPR, if CIC be able to fit the COPR into a letter-sized envelope.

Hello people....Ottawa has received my passport on 14th December for COPR stamping.
Has anyone else dropped their passport for stamping around the same time, usually how long would it take for the tracker to get activated?????please advise thank you

Got my PPR email. They asked me to send my passport to OTTAWA.

But I have few questions about sending my passport from USA to OTTAWA.

1) What should I use for return envelope? Which carrier? I went to USPS but they said they cannot give the return envelope as its coming from CANADA.
2) Can I use fedex or UPS or anything else?

Please advice.

Not sure of this will help you. but here is an excerpt from my PPR email received yesterday:

"• If you have a mailing address in the U.S.A.:
- The self-addressed, pre-paid envelope should be arranged with a courier that delivers between Canada and the U.S.A.
- Submit all documents by mail in a single package and send to the following address:
CPC – Ottawa – PR
365 Laurier Avenue West
Ottawa ON
K1A 1L1

I have a question. I send in my passport on Dec 24 and due to the holidays it was delivered to Ottawa on Dec 30. I am using an immigration consultant and they gave me a tracking number from Canada Post for returned package. But when I type the tracking number on the website today it said" we are not able to find any results". So what is the "return tracker activated" thing you guys talking about? How do you know when the tracker get activated? I saw some folks in this thread knows exactly when the passport was stamped and when it leaves Ottawa office. Where am I supposed to get this information. I know my consultant will call me once they receive back my passport. But I want to keep track of the process of my passport. Any advice is appreciated!

Return tracker activated= your return pre-paid envelope sent w ur pp was put into canada post tracking system. Usually u take pic of the tracking number of the return envelop to track when cic sends pp back to you.
