1. I just sent an email to CPP-O ti ack whether they received my passports package or not. Let us see if they reply or not. I did not ask about return time though. I did this just for peace of mind by assuming they will reply in couple of days.

2. As mentioned in other thread/post: I sent passports in xpresspost to PO Box address with signature on delivery. It was delivered to 'high volume receiver' which is nothing but a big bag designated as PO Box 9780 in CPP-O mail room. Canadapost.ca shows 'out for delivery' since 9-Dec morning but till not not changed to 'succefully delivered' status. When I called CanadaPost supervisor on toll free#, she said not to worry about status on their site. There will not be any signature on deliery to me b/c Immig office receives thousands of mail daily so all will not be scanned to reflect 'succefully delivered' status. She said definitely it reached to Immig officer and told me nothing to worry. I DO NOT KNOW this happened to anyone else on the forum or its just me? Can I assume or believe the info said by Supervisor? PLEASE SUGGEST or share your experience, kindly. Really I am under stress for this Candapost status etc., I hope they did not lose my package.

Happened to me as well. Not once, but twice. Also got the same response. And like you, I too was worried. So, I requested an internal inquiry (investigation) to determine the final delivery status. Canada Post tried everything...including contacting CIC, CPP-O, call center...but no luck, since its mass mail delivery to the center.

In follow up however, I ordered GCMS notes which in fact did confirm the successful delivery. Therefore, no need to worry. Just monitor the return tracker and you should be fine. Hope this gives you some peace of mind. :)

Good to hear .

Canadapost tracking is not reliable . Delivery status can be updated after couple of days. For me, the status was delivered on 5th. No signature on that day. After 2 days I saw signature .

Thanks, CEC2013.

If CPP-O replies me just a small word 'Rcvd' thats enough for me.....or as you suggested Return envelope tracking# activation.

When I was talking to Supervisor, there is another person exactly 100% in my situation.....she mentioend that 'its not unusual' ....

This has happened to me as well. I actually went in person to the branch to dispute this...and then all of a sudden, they pull it up. I just busted out laughing. What else are you gonna do at that point. 8)

Anyways, my passport is off to CPP-O as well. So, joining all of you in the wait now. Lets hope for some speed here. :D

My passport reached Ottawa on 13th Nov. No tracker activation.

Got standard email -

Dear Sir, We have received your passport and your application is currently in queue to be finalized. Please note that we are unable to estimate the remaining processing time required for your application. If you have included a prepaid Xpresspost return envelope, your passport will be returned using this envelope. If you have followed the instructions on the website and kept note of the tracking number, you should be able to follow its delivery on Canada Post. If you did not provide a prepaid Xpresspost return envelope, your passport will be returned by regular mail.

Was this from the visa officer? The visa officer code is usually mentioned in the signature of the email.

Also, when did you send the email to CIC and when did they reply?

Hi,
My status also showing 'out for delivery' since 9-Dec morning and I started worrying. But I hope that everything will be ok.

cheers

I have just received my passport... ;D

Hey guys, how are you?
I've been reading this thread to inform myself better for the whole situation. I still didn't sent my passport, because I am still in the phase of medical exams (on Thursday, to be more exact).

My question is: I have a trip scheduled for February to NYC, and I am afraid that CIC might just ask my passport at the end of January 2014. So, I was wondering if there is a way to ask them a priority on top of my case, considering that I have the flight ticket etc. And if so, how exactly should I send this "priority letter" to guarantee that I will have their attention?

Thank you very much for your time. And good luck for all of us. :D

I believe there is no priority... I have asked them they did not put any priority on my passport.. you would have 60 days after the passport request to submit it... so you can travel and then submit passport if it is not exceeding 60 days...

Congrats !!

Could your spouse travel today or had to reschedule?

I hope my spouse and I get our passports back before holidays :)

I was probably the person in the 100% exact situation. Don't worry, my status remained "out for delivery" since Nov 27 but I got my passport back today. So it's normal that it won't show as "received"
