We are still awaiting your passport. The notes on your file do not currently state that the passport has been received.
Though this might mean that your mail is still on its way, it can also mean that your passport has arrived at our office but has not yet been opened and associated to your file due to high volume of correspondence received. "

Any of you has sent the passport by Sep 1st week may want to try to send an email and see , what you get back!! Suspense thrills - but long wait kills!!

Perfect timing buddy..what was the time when you sent the email? I sent 3 emails to CIC requesting them to let me know if they can give me an idea as to when the passports will be returned but no reply so far...is there any specific format in which u wrote the email?

Well, all i said is , I mailed passports to Ottawa on xxx-xxx and appreciate if you could let me know when you ll complete processing the visa and return the passport"

To me it appears, this whole emailing is outsourced to some group and they go by status updated internally in the system and it takes atleast 10 calendar days to update , they respond really quick if you dont send repeated emails , I am sure they will appreciate that.

@ yahoo5 nope not yet - but I think I am posting in the wrong board (CEC instead of FSW) so timelines may not be accurate. Emailed CIC a few days ago and got the same response as others though - that it's in the queue.

Updated my case. Canadapost tracker says it was succesfully delivered today @ Otaawa. But after reading the post by other members here, God only knows, when the actual folks who are supposed to issue the VISA, gets it....

As advised already by infoseeker12, Please make sure that when you are posting this table, it does appear in purple box. If it does, then it means other members wont be able to Quote your table. They will quote the previous table which is not in purple box (like the one Yahoo7 has posted) and this may mean that the latest updates in the table will not be included.

So please make the following changes to make sure that the table can be quoted by the next member:

1. Click on Modify
2. Go to the top of your message and delete: {quote}, do the same at the bottom of the message {/quote}.
3. Click on save. if your table appears without the purple box, its fine.
4. If not..ask us for help.
