Under most circumstances, you will be unable to request your CAIPS file yourself. The Canadian law that allows access to immigration files restricts who has access to this information - you must be a Permanent Resident, Canadian Citizen or other person in Canada

It is CAIPS or GCMS is not your choice, all those who applied after May 2010 have been moved to GCMS and prior to that are on CAIPS, Any legal resident of Canada can apply, on your behalf. To be eligible, you must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada or an individual or corporation currently present in Canada.

You can apply online under Access to Information Act, the fees is $5 and the results come within 3-4 weeks time.

Our cases are getting delayed because there are four decision points in post-MI FSW processing: 1) eligibility assessment to determine if applicant meets MI criteria, and under MI2 this is done at the CIO; 2) selection — missions do this under MI1 and MI2 and it consists of reviewing documents and assessing points (note that the CIO does some negative selection decisions under MI2, that is, weeding out applicants who are not going to meet the points, but the missions do all positive and some negative selection decisions); 3) admissibility — criminality and health check done by missions; 4) visa issuance done by missions

Also, I request to not apply for CAIPS till you get personal interview because untill you are asked for interview it will not help you. They simply charge and give you IP message. No worry where the process is now it will not expedite the process. If it will give you whats status of file after 3-4 weeks we might have received MR or Personal Interview req. better to apply only if u get PI. My consultant also suggest it he is CIC Member and working for me from canada.

Please share knowledge so it could be helpful for others who are in same situation. I have felt delay in process for Australian Student Visa. But finally was granted visa as the TB was inactive and which is not demands for excessive money or endangered for Public health till it becomes active.[/size][/size]

But we are waiting for Medicals & don't know whether we will get them this year or next year or ... if we will ever get it.
