Hi everyone,

Do you know how many times can someone extend his/her visitor visa?

As a visitor, you can only stay in Canada 6 months. If you applied to within Canada for an extension, does it mean that when you get your passport back with the extension you have to go in and out and re-enter Canada again with the new extension?

Any information/comment regarding the experience with extending the visitor will be much appreciated.

Thank you :)

No - an extension does not allow you travel in and out of Canada. All it does is allow you to remain in Canada. Leaving Canada cancels the extension.

There is no specific number of times someone can extend a visa. If an extension is approved and how many are approved is entirely up to CIC.

Thanks scylla for the reply; I understand better now.
Thanks again :)
