Sorry Mary, but I don’t think your sister will be granted a TRV if she doesn’t have her own money or if you plan on getting her as a caregiver.

A TRV is for temporary visits. Of course she has to prove she will go back to the Philippines if she wants to be approved.

She also cannot be a caregiver in Canada without a work permit.

She would need to apply to become a caretaker. Does she have caretaker experience? Does she have a degree in caretaker or nursing? Sometimes it is not possible to sponsor family members as caretakers because there was a lot of abuse of the system. If your sister meets the qualifications to apply as a caregiver she should definitely apply but she should apply from the Philippines.

hello canuck

I have 2 doubts for my parents visitor visa

1. There is document which is their in the checklist to show the purpose of travel
You must submit proof that you are coming to Canada for a temporary visit.

Examples of what you can provide as proof:

A scanned copy of:

  • Your flight ticket departing Canada,
  • Your travel itinerary (e.g. places you will visit or stay, such as hotel booking),
  • Proof of a medical appointment.
so is it mandatory to book the flight tickets to show them the return date to prove that they will go back to their country or else just an itinerary written on plain paper is fine and also works and i read that the medical examination is not required for less than 6 months visit

second question: i would like to invite my niece (sister daughter) who is 6 yrs old and in 1st standard. My sister will not come so can i add her application as a family member with my parents application with consent letter from my sister that she is giving her consent for her daughter to travel with grandparents. I can show the funds for my niece to book ticket and other expenses for her

There is one question while i am filling the form that is she travel with parent or legal guardian so should i click yes as my parents can be considered as legal guardian for my niece. right?

Hello all,

I am a permanent resident of Canada since Aug 2019 and I recently got married in the month of Dec 2019.

I am planning to get my wife here ASAP.

I am aware Spousal sponsorship would take anywhere between 8-12 months.

Can any one please suggest quicker options for me to get my wife to Canada?

Thank you in advance

You can try a visitor visa although often chances of approval are slim especially with a spouse application in process but worth a try especially if not already submitted .

If inclined she could go with a study permit but that obviously is expensive.

I haven’t applied for her spousal PR sponsorship. Is it a good move to apply for a TRV.

No property ties for her in India.
She Is currently working in India
Her parents are in India.

please advise

She can try for a TRV but expect a refusal.
