Visitor Visa Waiting July 25th

Hi good day everyone.

I applied for my husbands visitor visa with permanent residence. I am a permanent residence who is living in Canada for 6 months and I am working.
We are still waiting for a visitor visa for my husband. On the application status tracker it shows Updated: September 2,2023 in the HOMEPAGE. But shows Updated: September 19th, 2023 on the visitor visa application page. Still progress in the background check. Eligibilty has not started. We gave the biometrics in July 25th, but applied at July 15th. It takes too long, I don't know how long will it take anymore. Do you think will we receive it soon because it says updated on the application status tracker? Any ideas?

Where is he living? Processing can be many months so times may be normal. There is nothing out of the ordinary and going through normal steps. Eligibility may start any time.

Hi, he lives in Turkey. It was showing 52 days when we applied and 64 days has passed. It become 75, now its 97 days its showing for processing times. But all of our relatives got their visas. I was wondering if Application status tracker updates are a good sign or just a sign lol

Processing times are based on today’s times (97 days) not when you submitted so he is within processing times.

I have a theory that explains why it is taking so long. I think the office in Ankara has been flooded by either student visa applications, applications from other Visa office (maybe from the one in Poland that served former Soviet Union) or staff shortages. Maybe a combination of these.

And when you look at the number of days they are adding to estimate processing times that number almost corresponds to a number of days passed since the last update. So I think barely anyone is getting visas right now if they have applied last summer.

I hope other applicants from Turkey/Azerbaijan reply back here. So we could know if they have started clearing the backlog.

I have applied for PR too for my husband. We got our biometric letter just today. I don't know if dual intent is making our visa longer too. Hope not.

We got the biometric and a request letter for one of the forms that we left some gaps so they wanted us to fill those gaps.
Also the medical exam part changed to We are reviewing the results of your medical exam. today. Maybe the will send medical exam request?

Any updates today on your application? All day they had maintenance I think they removed TS OWP thing. We should get our decisions soon.

The biometrics validity letter is a very good sign! A decision is coming soon!

Yeah. I have also noticed that the CIC website didn't work properly earlier today. Alas, there were no updates for us so far. We also don't have access to the Application status tracker - that thing just wouldn't send us a verification code to create a profile.

I think application status tracker is kinda slow. Its still not updated even tho its updated on GCKEY portal.
But it's strange you should be able to open the status tracker profile. Verification code should be on the page that you create the profile I think.

The tracker is updated daily at 11:00-11:30 EDT. Tomorrow you will see the update.

Awesome to hear about the medical request and document updates! No updates for us so far on the GCKEY portal. The status tracker tool just wouldn't let us create an account (it finds the application and the email but would not send a verification code to create the account with).

Applicants from Turkey, let’s all keep an eye out and share if anyone has more updates.

Nothing is updated on visitor visa application but with spousal sponsorship PR we gave medical and our bg check was changed no N/A afrer medical request.

I think tracker doesn’t work properly because on the GCKEY portal it says eligibility is reviewing but on the tracker it says not started yet.

Our PR process is going faster than we expected, and we thought it’s gonna take much more time than the visitor visa. this is why we also applied for visitor visa too but apparently visitor visa is gonna take so much longer.

We haven't been able to create an account on the tracker. For some reason, the tracker wouldn't send out a confirmation code. I have no idea why. It seems to be able to find the application and the email.

Anyway, it looks like they stopped adding days to the processing time a couple of weeks ago. I hope it means that the things are starting to get back to normal. Congrats to the cousin who got the approval in September!
