I am on visitor visa to canada from india. I am 55, (having heavy truck driver license holder from last 10 years). I found a truck driver job in canada.is it necessary to get LAMIA in your past occupation as in your home country???
Can my work visa be approved?? AGE or OCCUPATION (as i am teacher by profession, in past) change does matter in visitor visa conversion to work permit. Guide pls.

You need a LMIA first. Assume you are licensed to drive trucks in Canada.

Thnx a lot for quick reply.
No one can tell you if your work permit will be approved. There is no conversion from visitor to work visa. Once you have LMIA, you apply for work permit and wait. Are you single? What province?

I am single n in alberta. But i hv no relevant experience as a truck driver. Can this pose a problem in getting work permit as a driver.??

Yes, it will pose a problem. You aren’t eligible for an Alberta drivers licence as a visitor. In addition you will need to take the “MELT” course in order to qualify.

Yes, having no relevant experience is a big issue and means there's a very high chance of refusal.

Yes. Your employer has to prove no Canadian or PR who is qualified for the job could be hired, only you. Are you licensed to even drive trucks?
