Hello everyone,

If my common-law receives an extended visitor visa from 04/13 to 06/13, can we travel back and forth and leave the country and enter back?

We are applying in-land and I know in-land applications suggest us to stay inside the country for the entire process?

Just want to make sure...

Thanks.

Are you talking about visa or permit? Canada or US? If your partner is denied entry back to Canada, your application will be cancelled. If s/he is from a visa requiring country, the chance will be higher.

She has extender her stay as a "visitor visa" - which expires 06/2014.

We will be applying for common-law in-land sponsorship for her (im canadian citizen) very soon. Just wondering if we can still travel back and forth to leave the house if she wants to (ex, going back to japan or united states..etc)

Im thinking yes she can...but just want to confirm.

Once she leaves Canada, the visitor permit will be reset. There is no guarantee of entry to Canada. If she wants to travel, why not apply outland? There is no travel restriction for outland application.

Apply outland - the process is usually faster and you can come and go as you please (assuming they let you back in)

If you apply inland, do not risk the application by leaving at all.

Then why are you asking? I'm sorry if I come off as blunt, but if you are gonna go by the officer's words, then there's no reason to ask anything else UNLESS you don't know if you can trust the officer's words.

Agreed! Does the officer know that you were going to drop his answer into the context of an "inland" application? I'm betting not.

As a visa-exempt country, you do not receive a visitor visa. They stamp your passport with a date under it - this is the date you need to leave by (if they don't put a date, its 6 months from when the stamp was placed). Leaving the country resets this - they will need to stamp your passport again and give you a new date.
Therefore, they can deny you entry, or give you a shorter time to be here. Chances of denying you into the country are slim, but the risk is there.
Unless there is something special with extending your visitor status.. which could be the case. I wouldn't risk it irregardless.
