American who wants to move to Canada to be with boyfriend!

Now we did this a few years back but my husband and I got married, then almost immediately applied outland. He went back to Arizona for a few months to tie up loose ends, then came back to Canada to 'visit' for 6 months. We applied for a visitor extension, which was approved, so he essentially...

    American spouses FATCA

I don't really know much about this - what in this act makes you unable to have a joint bank account with your American husband? We had a joint account through TD when my husband was my boyfriend, and we hadn't started processing his PR application yet.

How do you Americans like Canada? :P

My husband grew up in Phoenix and now lives in a small town in Canada with me. When he first came here, he was mortified that I often left my house with my door unlocked. Now he does it more than me! He feels the people here are much friendlier. He enjoys seasons (Arizona obviously has summer...

Advice (US Citizen Married to Canadian Citizen)

Now it's been more than a year since my American husband got his PR, so I am unsure if things changed. Depending on your financial status, and if he can support you - you can "visit" him in Canada for up to 6 months. When you are getting close to the end of that 6 months, you can apply for an...

Border Security (TV show on Slice and BBC Canada)

Hahaha that show gives me anxiety! Only because we stupidly lied to the officers when my husband moved here. We were married, and he was coming in for 6 months (to extend later). For some STUPID REASON (don't do this!), we decided to lie to them because our PR had just been put in and didn't...

Correct me if I am wrong but I don't think CIC will look at your second marriage as viable, as you are still married to your first.

US citizen trying to marry Canadian after border inspection issues

Marriage is the fastest, yes. You can try to extend your stay. Do it ASAP. You will be under implied status until you receive word on whether they've accepted you or not - just know you may have to leave relatively quickly if they deny it. I would get married any time. I think personally city...

    Exclusion order. outland application

I would always expect whatever time the VO says for processing time. Some are processed faster, some longer. Because you have an exclusion order, I would assume that you would have to wait until that is up before actually coming here, but someone with more experience may know more about that...
