Hi everybody,
i am visiting my sister here in usa,and i applied for a visa to canada to visit montreal with my sister and her 2 children,i have 10 yerars visa to state, now i just received my passport with no visa in it because they said they feel i will not leave canada after the sejour : the raisons for thet 1/your inside travel 2/your visit raison 3/your financie situation in your own country is not that strong leave canada after your sejour , do i can apply again and get it if send them my bank statement from my own country ?
Thank you

Hi,

You can reapply again but make sure you should address/overcome the reasons for your refusal. Prove that you have strong ties to your home country. Bank statement is not enough ties since you can transfer your money from one bank to another. You can show properties under your name like house & lot, good paying job, if you have family/child to go back to.

Good Luck :)

Hi,
Thank you BULEG , what do you think is better i go back home and apply from there or i go and come back to state and apply again for a visa to canada ??? , because i found in the refusal letter the first raison is my past travel history , i never stayed over any visa in my passport but this's my first visite to usa with 10 years visa .
Thank you everybody

Hi,

It's still better to apply from your home country but you need to consider to address the reason of your refusal. Travel history is not necessary that you always travel and never overstay, the VO also check who finance your travel. Is it business trip or personal trip? If it's personal trip who buy your ticket, where do you stay (hotel or friend's house), who shoulder your expenses on your trip? These are the things that the VO consider about your travel history, of course if your travel is purely personal trip & from your own expense that's an advantage to your side.

May I ask where you from & if you're currently working if you don't mind?

:)

I sent my application package on June 18th and it reached Consulate @detroit on June 23rd. So far I don't have any update and I don't know how to find status. I sent my wife's package on July 20th and I received stamped passport back on 6th August. I am not sure what is the wrong with my application and where is my passport.

Can someone let me know if there is a way to find the status ?

thanks

Let me also know if that works.

Thanks

Hi Every one,

I sent my application package along with passport on June19th. I waited for 6 weeks and sent an email to detroit consulate asking for the status. They replied me saying that it was posted on July 24th vis USPS priority mail but I haven't received my passport so far.

They don't have any tracking number. When I replied to their email with the issue they said if it is returned to their office they will call me immediately.

Do any one has suggestions on what should I do?

appreciate your help

Venkat

Hi everyone! :D
I am an Argentinian with a J1 visa.
I send my visa application on August 25th with Express Mail - USPS to the Detroit office. The package arrived there on the 27th.
Today after reading all of your comments I decided to check the tracking web page for USPS and I found that my passport had arrived this morning at my hometown´s post-office. I was getting ready to drive there and pick-up the package when someone knocked at my door bringing it to my home. Long story short, I JUST RECEIVED MY VISA A FEW MINUTES AGO!
Good luck to all of you; it seems like things are getting better at the consulate.

Hi
I wanted to know if its faster to apply in person than in mail. I live about 6 hrs away from detroit. I have already sent my visa application by mail to NYC 3 weeks ago but have not heard so far. I need to apply for my wife as well, so I was thinking if it is faster, we can just drive to detroit and get it stamped over there. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

did you read the information on the Detroit Web Site?

Attention:

The Canadian visa office in Detroit is no longer open to the public for same-day non-immigrant services. All applications must be submitted by mail.

Greetings...

Could anyone list me the requirements to apply for a visit visa to Canada plz....?

I'll be applying from Pakistan.

Thanks

Hi,

I had applied for Canada Transit Visa as I am a Indian Citizen and was having a stop over in Montreal, Canada ( Not changing planes).

My flight is on 4th Dec and I came to know that I need to get Canada Transit Visa on the 4rd Nov. I managed to compile the documents/ Photos and send my package to Detroit Office via Mail on 5th which reached the Detroit office on 6th Nov.

List of Documents.
1 - IMM 5645- FAMILY INFORMATION.
2 - IMM 5257 – COMPLETED SCHEDULE 1.
3 - IMM 5257 – APPLICATION FOR TRV (TRANSIT VISA- ROUNDTRIP).
4 - FINANCIAL DOCUMENTS.
5 - FLIGHT DETAILS.
6 - PHOTOS.

On 25th I received my passport via Pre Paid Express mail that I had submitted (No communication before that from Consultant). 19 Days for me to get the Documents.

Hope this is helpful.

Regards,
