Visitor visa renewal query

Dear friends
I renew my son passport he has Canada tourist visa in his old Indian passport which is valid till may 2022
I have already applied his tourist visa from India for renewal Before the expiry date of his tourist visa
I want to know if he travel on his old visa with new passport before may 2022
will I have to withdrawal his tourist visa renewal application.
My previous plan was he will travel on new visa and new passport but now plan was changed
