Hello everyone,

I live in Canada and planning to apply for parents and married brother visitor visa application, will submit the application as a representative under the same group where father will be a primary applicant. Looking at the few earlier posts, people have mentioned that adult brother have to submit the application separately, not in the same group as parents as he has to show his own funds.

Need your help on the queries below -

1. In a group application, I can see the option to fill the application and upload the documents separately for each individual including proof of funds, so quite confused on the above point, why adult has to submit the application separately?

2. In a group application, the approval/rejection will be based on the whole group or individual application? For example, I will submit the 3 applications under one group, can i expect either approval/rejection of all of them or individual basis?

Thank you in advance !

If your brother is over 22 and married, he is not part of a group application. He is not a dependant of your parents. He shows his own funds, travel history, ties etc. Your parents can apply together with either mother/father as primary applicant and the other as a dependant. Yes, one parent can only be approved.

Thank you for your response. Yes, my brother is over 22 yrs and not dependent on my parents. How about if i will select my brother as a primary applicant in the group application? Although my parents are also not dependent on him and everyone will submit their own documentation and proof of funds.

No he is not the principal applicant for your parents. There is no dependant relationship.

Hi @Naturgrl, hope you are doing well!
Just wanted to check with you on the following documents for my sibling who is over 22. Are they good or need anything extra?
  • Funds - Bank statements for last 6 months, CA Evaluation letter, Employment Letter, Paystubs for last 6 months, Tax returns.
  • Additional Docs - Cover Letter, Invitation letter with Inviter documents (Status in Canada, Employment Letter, Bank Statements, Payslips, NOA), Employer NOC, Proof of relationship with Inviter, Family Passport documents to prove their relationship as they are not accompanying (strong home ties).

How long is visit? Does employment letter state approved leave? Is banks statement cash only and show that he can support a visit as well as support family? Include any travel history/visas to the US, UK, NZ or AUS. If refusals for any country, those must be stated.

Thank you for quick response. It's 10 days visit. Yes, NOC includes approved leaves. Bank statements are cash only ,approx 25K, assets are separate.
Another question please - For 'Is someone else giving you money for your stay in Canada?' - Brother is going to stay with me, do I need to say 'Yes' to this question?

You are not giving him money. Letter of invitation can say that he is staying with you but he will cover expenses.
