I applied for a visit visa for my husband on 23rd September. (His spousal file is already in process and was submitted on 4th January 2023)
We received an email on October 12th asking to pay off the outstanding credit on one of his old applications, which we paid off the same day
Eligibility for visit visa was completed on 18th October.
Still waiting for the approval.
Not sure why it is taking so long as the processing time is 30 days.
Could someone please tell me what is the actual timeline?

I applied a TRV for my in-laws on Sep 30. The eligibility and background are still in progress on the portal however the IRCC Tracker shows the eligibility as completed. Its been over a month and half now. What can I do to check the right status as the processing time has well elapsed? Can anyone share the link to the webform/gcms notes?

I have the same case applied 4 october parents visitor visa . Everything is done but still background checking going on . Since waiting. also done 2 web form but no answer

Try reaching out to your local MP and ask them to enquire on your behalf.

I applied for my mom visitor visa on 6th oct 24 and completed biometric on 16Th.
Till now its only shows background check in progress nothing in eligibility.
Is eligibility done before background check or vice versa?please advise.

we are on same boat but I called IRCC today and they said they don't see any update on file but will ask visa officer to send a message/update on application as soon as possible.
