Most offices in India are closed and the majority of Canadian staff returned to Canada so that is why there are delays in India. Most applicanta are unable to do biometrics adding to delays. There have been delays throughout the world due to covid. Canada is like any other country.
Well I’m actually an inland applicant so I was taking about the IRCC staff here in Canada. It doesn’t really makes sense that it’s taking them so long.

There was a lockdown period and then it took quite awhile to retrofit a large office complex to make it safe to work in. They’d also need to find cleaning contractors just for each bathroom. For privacy reasons immigration isn’t something that can easily worked on from home. Some may have had a secure connection to work on some things but the majority must go into an office.

I had applied on May 21 and received Biometrics Correspondence on July 22, very similar to your dates.
Also, going by the pattern of the other guys here that were approved, I am hopeful we’ll receive an approval and passport request before the end of this month.
Any update?

You have to ask them about this. I had conflicting answers when I asked: some agents said yea but its up to the visa processing officer, others said no just cancel it and apply from back home

You can travel, but you will not be able to come back. You will need to apply again from your country.
