Hi,

My friends parents got a VISIT VISA from

FEB 2015 to FEB 2016

They came to Canada in NOV 2015

now the DATE OF ENTRY is NOV 2015

QUESTION- WILL their (PARENTS) authorized stay be from the date of entry irrespective of the visa validation(Visa ends-Feb 2016). And/or they have to apply for a VISITOR Extension and then the 6 months will be from Nov to May 2016?

A border services officer at the port of entry in Canada will determine how long you can stay in Canada. Most visitors are allowed a six-month stay from the day they entered Canada. If the officer authorizes a stay of less than six months, they will indicate in your passport the date by which you must leave Canada.

If the immigration officer did not hand write any date below the entry stamp then they are authorized to remain for 6 months from the date of initial entry (November 2015)
