My parents' Visa were granted for 18 months and they stayed here for couple of months last year and left Canada. Their visas are expiring in August 2018.
I am looking to bring them here for 6 months starting October 2018.

I have 2 questions

1. Should I apply for a new visa or is there a visa extension process available to apply outside of Canada?
2. Can I apply right away or wait until the visa expires?.

Thanks for helping.

TRVs cannot be extended. They must apply for new visas.

By the end of this month.

Hopefully, their passports do not expire soon

Thanks for the reply. Their passports expire in 2 years. I know I will have to apply again.

The maximum validity of their new TRVs in this case would be until their passport expiry i.e. 2 years or slightly less

Thanks again. My situation slightly changed now. Can they enter Canada in August (two weeks before the TRV expiry date) and stay for 6 months without applying for a new visa?
