Booking a flight before applying for a visitor visa

I plan to apply for a Canadian visitor visa (visiting family, short visit). Should I buy round trip air tickets before applying? IRCC web-site recommends to provide flight details.

No do not book. IRCC asks to provide flight details but also specifies not to book a ticket until you have a TRV.
