Hi, I hope this is the right place to post this question, if not please let me know.

My wife and I live in Toronto and she's recently been hospitalized in ER. They shift her to the regular room later but right now there no empty beds. The doctor says she's definitely sick and they can't really find out what's causing the sickness. However, she's not that sick that she'll need urgent care. But at the same time, I can see her symptoms are just getting worse.

We don't have any family here. It is just me and her. We both have PR. We really need some help from family and considering to call her parents.

Is there any provision to get visitor visa for parents asap? Currently the process is going to take a month. I'm not sure if we can afford to wait that long. Please let me know your suggestions

So sorry for your situation. You must be worried sick. There is no expedited processing so apply for TRV with doctor's notes indicating what urgent care she is receiving. Your invitation letter can indicate why their presence is urgent. If it is only a month that is a really fast processing time.

Yes there is an expedited processing for time sensitive situations. If your wife has only recently been admitted the average stay in hospital is not very long so there is a very good chance that she will be out of the hospital before they get to Canada or even hear about their application. In general the hospital will stabilize you and the discharge you for further investigation. There are some cases where people are admitted for longer periods but just warning you. I would suggest getting a letter from the hospital about your wife’s medical situation (current signs wnd symptoms and symptoms and what type of conditions they are trying to rule in/out) as soon as possible. Have the doctor indicate what their plan of action is and how long they estimate she will be in the hospital and whether follow-up care will be needed/will she need continued support when out of the hospital. Normally I would suggest indicating how life threatening the situation is or if this is an end of life situation but that luckily doesn’t seem to be relevant for your situation wife. You should specify whether your wife is in need of support or help with actual activities like walking or whether this is more emotional support. Would indicate if you are still working or when you will have to return to work and specify that you don’t have family in Canada. The doctor or social worker may be the one to talk to about securing a letter. Would probably start by mentioning it to her nurse at the beginning of the day/shift so they are aware that you are trying to get something in writing. Most hospitals should be familiar with providing these types of letters especially large hospitals in urban areas.

There should be a prompt when applying to for a TRV to select if this is an emergency situation. If not here is some information about how to proceed. I am not sure how current it is but at least provides some idea of how else you can apply for the emergency TRV. You can always contact their local embassy or consulate and ask for direction about how to apply for emergency travel visa.
