Has anyone applied for TRV a third time for their bf or gf and had success on the third try? If so, what did you do differently from past applications?

May help to provide the person’s profile and reasons for three refusals.

May help to provide the person’s profile and reasons for three refusals.
29 y/o woman from Colombia.
First refusal had the typical reasons:

note limited travel history (after this refusal we backed it up with a trip to Europe) limited ties to COR (second application we mentioned that her mother is bed ridden and she’d need to return to help her mom) and limited ties to inviter (we’ve been in a long distance relationship for a year and a half on the second app)
Applicant mobile, is not well established and has no dependents
Taking the applicant's current employment situation into consideration, the employment does not
demonstrate that the applicant is sufficiently well established that the applicant would leave Canada
at the end of the period of authorized stay”

To the last point; she has had the same job for 4 years, and it’s a decent job in my opinion (she designs cabinetry for homes).
Second refusal had the following reasons:
• Your assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel for yourself (and any accompanying family member(s), if applicable). (We also provided my bank statements which were well funded)

• You do not have significant family ties outside Canada. (Her terminally ill mother)

• The purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay given the details you have provided in your application. ?

• You have limited employment possibilities in your country of residence.” (She has an undergrad, and has consistently been employed since graduating)

- How long a trip did she request?
- How much did she show in funds to support her trip?
- What evidence did she provide to show her monther's condition? Is she living with her mother and the primary caregiver?
- Is there anything significant in her profile that has changed since her last application which you can use to strengthen her application?

-We requested 4 weeks.
-she showed 3000 cad, I showed ~20k and stated I’d be paying for her flight and she wouldn’t have to pay for a hotel.
-we didn’t provide evidence of her mothers condition, but we’re hoping that could help. She lives with her mother and father. They split responsibility for taking care of the mother.
-the only thing I believe that canstrengthen it would be swearing an affidavit for my letter of invitation, and a letter of support from my representative.

- I would ask for 2-3 weeks in your next application.
- Her funds are too low. I would recommend she hold off applying again until she can significantly increase her funds. IRCC wants to see that the applicant can fund the trip themselves and that they aren't going to end up spending all of their savings on the trip.
- You can certainly show evidence of her mother's condition in the next application.
- An affidavit has no value. It cannot be enforced. I wouldn't bother with this.

Request was too long with $3k. Even you paying flight, her savings are too low for that length. You showing you would pay for her flight and accommodations would raise flags that she cannot afford a visit. She is using all her savings for a trip.

She needs to show that she cares for her mother with doctor’s notes etc. Again taking a trip for a month shows that she is not required.

So don’t reapply until her funds can support a two week visit. Approx. $10k. Include proof of care for her mother.

Any idea what would be a good amount of money to show for a 2 week trip? Seems like it’s quite arbitrary, and depends on how the VO feels that day.

The other poster said approximately $10k and include proof of care of her mother.
