I got an email yesterday evening that my app was updated. I logged in, but nothing changed. I tried again a minute ago, and it says that the Application Status is Closed, A final decision has been reached - This application has been approved. After 42 days.
So, hopefully you won't need to wait till October.
So now I need to wait till the snail mail arrive to find out how much time I got?

Well congratulations, I'm glad you finally heard! 25 days my A**.

I hope you get it for a long time, it seems ridiculous to have to spend $100 every few months because you're required to stay in the country. It should be renewed automatically if your application keeps taking longer. But who am I to have any opinions on this matter.

Only thing I can see that it has been approved.
If they gave me just 6 months again, I won't go far with that, I definitely won't bother with an interim driver's licence.

And yeah, it's a joke how they write whatever they want for the processing time... I hope you will here something by the end of the week!

Congratulations!!, now I have an idea when I can have any information from them. Seems this process is getting slow like all the other process, specially inland sponsorship..

My application was updated again this morning, and now I got a letter that has the validity date, I got a one year extension! ;D

Thank you Lellen I already got my book for the knowledge test, I can go as soon I get the extension by snail mail.

This may sound really silly, but can somebody please tell me where to check the status of my TRV extension? I filed for my extension on July 2nd and I still have not heard anything from the embassy. Will I receive an email or is there a number to call or website to check?

Did you apply online? If you applied online, just go to MyCIC, it should say whether it's open or not, but they won't tell you much about it until it's done.

If you applied by mail, I think you have to wait until you hear from them, there is no way to check the status on a paper application.

Still nothing for you? I got mine by post on Friday, went to ICBC and take the knowledge test on Monday, then I was able to book a road test appointment for today, now I'm waiting for my driver's license to arrive by post. Just can't believe that everything goes so smooth and fast in here, everything but CIC...

MY brother got a response after 3 months... his extension was refused. We have not yet received an official letter so not sure how long he has before he has to leave but we want to reapply. Anyone know if this is even possible. Once you are refused can you reapply? Circumstances have changed so we would be submitting new information. Any info. would be great - thank you.

Oh no that sucks... was he waiting for PR as well? Why was he refused?

Nothing for me yet! A lady at CIC said she would send them an email, and I sent a case specific enquiry as well. Do you think it's getting denied and that's why it's taking so long?
I'm glad you solved the license issue. Yes, you're right, anything that's not CIC works fast.
