Yeah I called several times. They really can't do anything other than tell you to wait and/or call them again in 90 days!

I just called and the girl on the phone said my extension was granted for six months! That's great, it's what I asked for. I think I might stay much less, I can't stand not being able to work.

Ugh it's been 61 days for me! I received an email on Saturday saying that my application was updated, logged on, nothing. Every day I have logged on since then, and nothing. Today I logged on from a different browser, it says it has been approved. Yay? I don't know for how long though.

Congrats! Exact same thing to me, got an email, logged in, nothing, than the day after I could see it was approved, another day after I received the email about the exact extension, then a couple day arrived by mail. I'm glad you finally have it!

"You are currently in possession of a permit which confers status as a temporary resident in
Canada. A temporary resident visa cannot be issued at our office. Please visit
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/apply-how.asp to find out how to apply for a Canadian
temporary resident visa from within Canada. "

May I ask how you get your tourist visa approved? Can you send the link to the online application?

foreign worker
in Canada with a Canadian residential address,

You don't want a "new temporary resident visa". You want to "apply to change conditions or extend your stay".

So we must apply using the paper package? No way to apply online? When we called CIC earlier, the agent said we could apply online and so we did.

I did an online visitor extension application on the 22nd July with the only update being that it has been received.
Processing times latest update is 20 Days duration and processing visas from 25th July.
Should I be concerned about this?

We submitted on July 9th, and the status is still open.

It took more than 60 days for me. Forget about the processing times posted on their website, seriously. At least after 20 days you can call or send a case specific enquiry...
