Visitor Visa at VAC los angeles

Hi I applied for Canada visitor Visa online a month back and I didn't get any notice till now. I was planning to make a trip there during July 4th break.
Is it possible to do a walk in application at Visa application center in Los Angeles . I can make a day trip to LA and I would like to know if they usually issue Visa on the same day?

Did anybody have experience of going to VAC and if so how time would it take. Please share your experience .
