Hi everyone ;D, I want to apply online to extend my stay in Canada as a visitor and I'm filling up the eligibility questionnaires,
But first, the reasons I'm extending: I'm waiting for my Open Work Permit and permanent Resident as I applied for Spouse within Canada Sponsorship.
I'm confused on how to answer the number 2 question.
(cic.gc.ca/ctc-vac/getting-started.asp)

1. What would you like to do in Canada?
Study
Visit (My answer-as I'm planning to extend my stay as a Visitor)
Move There (It can't be this though I applied for PR)
Work

2. How long are you planning to stay in Canada?
Temporarily less than 6 months
Temporarily more than 6 months
Permanently (Should I answer this? as I'm waiting for my OWP and PR but my answer to no. 1 is just "Visit")

Thanks in advance :)

Did you file the OWP application BEFORE your status expired in Canada?

If so, no extension is needed, you will be under implied status until you hear back from CIC regarding the OWP application.

Hi, thanks for the response. Yes, I applied 3 months ago for OWP and PR. And I just received an appreciation letter
that they already received my application, that was it. But the local CIC office told me that I still need to extend my visa
and to never let my visa status expire until I receive my OWP.
"Never let your legal status expire, that's the rule of thumb", he said. My visitor visa would expire on March 05, 2017.

Does that mean if visitor whose applicant is under family sponsorship and in process at visa office than what should be correct answer to q 1 & 2?

Yes exactly, what should be the correct answer to question no. 1 and 2? If I'm still on Visitor's visa and want to extend while I submitted an application for family Sponsorship. Thanks.

to be honest, i would say mentioned answer to Q-1 : Visit and move permanently here. Provide details of PR / OWP details so they can catch details as not disclosing this information will generate red flag. Does it sounds correct ?

Being on implied status keeps your status active.

As you have already submitted an OWP application, submitting a visitor extension application will result in a refusal. You cannot have two active temporary applications at the same time.
