Visiting Visa expiration procedure

Hi,

i do have 7 month canada visa that is about to expire . Today is, May 13th, and my Visa will expire in August . Do i have to wait till it expire or can apply for another visa before it expire. I am currrently residing outside canada (USA). This is not a 6 month visa renewal for staying in canada policy . My visa was given to me based on my Passport expiration at that time which was 7 month to expire so they gave me for for seven month only. Do i have to reapply for another Visa in my new passport or there is an option to extend it ?

You have to apply for a new TRV.
