I personally do not believe in freedom of expression, that is all silly games people in West play and don't even believe it themselves. I think we live in a SM world, where Boss is Boss.
The harder kicks I get from my Boss the bigger Boss I know he is. And I know what to do when you get hard kicks from a Big Boss: you just bow down and keep quite. Only silly people speak up and make their life more miserebel.

I personally am visible minority but I never hear of anyone having any sort of discrimination or racial abuse, those kind of things are unheard of in modern world , especially in Canada. Even if it was true I would deny it, because of what I said above, about Big Boss and SM world we live in (I Believe in this! That's my true religion: Kissing up to a Big Boss!).

In fact most of my Bosses are of different ethnicity from me (that's why they are Bosses and in a position to Hire. of course they must be Big Bosses! Who am I to challenge them? I must be over joyous they don't do to me all those horrible things they could if they wanted to. Of course I would stay just as quite if they did).

I also want to say to everyone that in Canada there are lots of jobs. All you have to do is spend another 20 years and go to elementary school through University in Canada. Of course Canadians can't take your study in home country for face value. If you didn't go to elementary school in Canada , how do they know that you can do basic math? See? All very logical.

This Canadian government asked us for college education and proof of experience for nothing, it was just Big Bosses caprice to say "Show me this paper and that paper". And you see, I am smart, I understand it. When Big Boss does something like this, and asks you something (even if for no reason), you don't later come back and tell him "Why did you ask me for college degree if in Canada I have to go to elementary school all over again?". No, you don't do such impolite things when you deal with Big Bosses!
All you can do is say "Oh Big Boss! Whatever you say, I am yours! You can ask me anything and do to me anything you like! You own me! Who am I to ask you such impudent questions!"
After you do this Big Bosses like you, because all Big Bosses know they don't have to do anything for you, you have to do everything for them. Even if Big Boss misleads you and makes fool of you thats 100% OK, because Big Boss is Big Boss! You understand?

So, big praise to Big Boss! Government is Big Boss, my employer is Big Boss anybody who has more control and power than me is a Big Boss and you don't challenge Big Bosses, you only obey them!
What silly people here in Canada, I don't understand this! They talk to Big Boss like we talk to same people like us! What a shame! No wonder they all jobless now, But at least I am smart, I know how to treat and talk to Big Bosses, so I am happy, I have a good job, I get paycheck, I cook barbecue sometimes and life is good for me.

So, everyone, come to Canada and make Big Boss happy! But come here with special mindset: Big Boss is everything! He must be worshiped and you must only think how to make Big Boss happy, not about you! If you do this Big Boss will like you and give you a job and your life will be good, like me.
So, don't listen to these impudent rascals who say bad things about Big Boss this, Big Boss that!
Just come to Big Boss with humble heart and Big Boss will accept you!

My 2 cents.

Happy new immigrant

Yes, Polara69, I was banned for a day. Because Devil got into me and I was impudent and dared to challenge Big Bosses. But then God had mercy on me, I was exorcised, Devil was kicked out of me so now I am very smart man, and as you can see I am happy now, got a job, occasionally cooking barbecue and etc., life is good man ;D :p

I did college & university here in Canada and now working with a reputable company. There were times when I felt bad working / studying in Canada but overall, it has been a very good experience.

Even though, I love my country, I won't be leaving Canada to go back to my home-country and stay there. The reason why we all immigrate to Canada is the expectations / fantasies of great life ahead. But do not forget, in every country you have to work very hard to be at the top.

I have friends (visible minority) including myself who make well-above the Canadian average income and we are grateful for this country to give us the opportunity to excel ourselves in respected fields.

Yes, there are racist people; cops, teachers, bosses but why take the negatives ? Why can't we be happy with what this country has given us. If you cannot make enough to support your family, it is YOUR shortcoming that you do not have what it takes. Please do not generalize it.
Yes, we do not get our degrees / experience from back home certified or recognized here but why cannot we study and get them recognized ?

If someone is not getting what they expected, please tell me why cannot we go back to our home country and live our lives without any problem ?

Anyways, there are racist people everywhere. You cannot blame the country for its people !!!
Be safe and happy :)
Well put mate!

Indeed, very excellent post! We should all be going to elementary school, college and University after we arrive to Canada on FSW. Even those of us who have PhD from back home must start with Canadian elementary school. all over again. Once you do that and complete full course of study you can start to fix a good job for you, with reputational company. I agree with poster 100%. Some silly new immigrants don't understand this. At least we are smart, we know.

Why don't we fall on our knees in front of a Big Boss and praise him that he doesn't use us for a dog food? Do you ever think about it? Imagine how bad it would be, to be processed as a pet food. Surely, I feel like I deserve to be made a pet food, but somehow out of sheer generosity of Big Boss I am still alive, have a job , cook barbecue sometimes and etc. For this I must be infinitely thankful to Big Boss!

Some people have unrealistic expectations, they think they have PhD or college diploma from back home and this entitles them to anything other than
driving a taxi and flipping burgers. Who do they think they are?! What an insolent beings they are, to show such disrespect for a Big Boss and not be thankful for anything Big Boss gives to them. Tsk-tsk-tsk.

If anyone doesn't like it here why don't they volunteer to be a pet food back home? I don't understand this.

I am so happy here! You should be too. ;)

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/04/19/parma-police-resign-black-female-mayor_n_7097110.html

And now this. All white police officers resign in a town in US when a black female Mayor gets elected. Doesn't this indicate racism? For me, there is a sense of deja vu in that, I faced a similar situation when I was working at Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) in Toronto. I was newly appointed as a people leader/line manager; meaning that I would have staff directly reporting to me. 2 white women, both of them based out of RBC in US, transferred to other departments, within a month of my taking over, making me look bad in the process. Shortly thereafter, my manager stripped me of my people manager role and I became an individual contributor. Some white people are very reluctant to serve under a minority. And this happens a lot within the Canadian banking sector, where an overwhelming majority of the line managers and executives tend to be white; mostly white men. That in turn fosters stereotypes of a manager always being a white male and that becomes the norm. White staff then engage in what is known as "pattern matching". So when a minority takes over as a line manager, they don't fit the pattern from the perspective of white staff. That results in them rebelling against the newly appointed minority line manager. Their reactions include communicating their disapproval directly to the managers of the newly appointed minority line manager, non-cooperation, insubordination, passive-aggressive behaviour, snitching on their minority manager about every little infraction and influencing other white colleagues to create negative perceptions. Minority managers react by trying to curry the favour of their white staff and making every effort to "please" them, in a bid to gain their acceptance. I have been in that situation, and it can look like the tail is wagging the dog. White staff can dictate terms to their minority manager. Minority managers have little control on their white staff, rather, they are dependant on them, because if white staff say negative things about their minority manager, white executives will readily buy into that story and maul that minority manager. There is a great deal of emotional blackmail that takes place in those situations. Minority managers often turn a nelsons eye to their white staff in order to stay in their "good books". For any minority, achieving the status of a line manager in US or Canada can turn out to be a pyrrhic victory. Most of them are lameduck, powerless and weak managers, incapable of effecting any change. Just search for evidence of how many times, minority managers have been able to fire their white staff? It almost never happens. The politics of race overshadows their operational autonomy.

Big Boss says it's Ok to blame white people, race and talk about minority discrimination. That's what all the problem is, not economy. Economy talk is taboo! So, please, do not disturb our respected user Flute. let him post about race issue! Bis Boss more happy like this!

While we have so many negative vibes here, three of my friends have already got job in their own fields. Only these 3 in March-2015 have landed so far from our group.
I don't think these folks will come to the forum and talk about getting the offer.

All,

quite an interesting exchange of views in general. I am of the opinion that the immigration system is totally flawed - a meaningless and out of context "points system" that qualifies a person as a top engineer in their country but only meets the requirements to drive a cab in Canada - added to the mere handful of jobs available in Canada and above all, the general reluctance to welcome immigrants into the mainstream. I believe all this is true and yes, unless you are at the bottom of the heap where anything else would be a better life, or you have way too much money and have taken a whim to Canada, the country can be very daunting for a professional with limited resources trying to get a foothold in the corporate world. There may be a few success stories, but almost every immigrant has a nightmarish time in the first few years. I see some readers here are loathe to read this view and I might be condemned as being too negative. But facts are facts. I believe it's better to come with no expectations so anything will be a bonus, while quite the opposite happens with most newcomers, thanks to all the official hogwash floating around that Canada is the most liveable country in the world, etc. Sorry fellas, that's my view. I migrated to Canada in 1999 from S. Africa and lived in Toronto for a year. Everyone looks so miserable and worn, dampening your already damp spirits. in 2000 I decided that I'd had enough and returned to SA, and never looked back since. My only regret is having had to part with the thousands of dollars with nothing to show for it. I will never go there again, and my advice to those thinking of migrating - ask yourself if you have a good job and decent money where you are. If so, and if your country is not a war zone or terror ridden, please stay back!

Dude you are posting this same text in every thread. We heard you. Now bring in something new, optimistic, positive and colorful aspect of your life. Anything, you think, you did wrong during your Canadian sojourn. What else you could have done? Should you decide to go back, do you think you can do lil better by changing your approach and attitude. During your stay any sweet experience that you would like to talk about. umm waiting..
There are two kind of folks - those who think positive and those who do not succeed - Canada or no Canada.

@ Ramelak

Staying only for 1 year is not exactly giving it a go. It takes longer to get acquainted to a place. I can only speak highly of Canada and what I have received so far. I am having a complete different opinion, I love it here, work full time, have a nice apartment, a nice truck, friends, colleagues, no Sir, I am enjoying myself too much.

Well Sir I am happy for you.
Only thing is that this place isn't customed to have professional immigrants. But its canadas business, to bring in rich people from their hometowns only to land a job that's ill suited for a doctor to be. Did you know that i knew a person whose a PHD in his country and are now driving a school bus here. One engineer i spoke with is working at walmart produce section. The biggest heartbreak i knew was this guy who was an engineer and a army division commander in his country during the gulf war and now drives that pushcart machine. The most of all is this guy who where a undersecretary of his formers country's governmental department and now works at a grocery store.

Problem with this country is that it gives a false sense on immigration. If the Federal government really needs people abroad to work menial jobs here, they should welcome poor laborers from a third world country to fill in janitorial positions and what not.

But since it's a strategic goal to infuse this economy with fresh wealth. Its a business.

Only thing Ramelak should have done is waited until he received his canadian passport and skidadled off this banana right quick. Price you paid for your hard earned dollars.
