I believe that is correct.

In fact, Canada is in the process of making its own version of the law. They call it Bill C-51. You will be amazed by the similarities it has with USA's Patriot Act.

Most people don't realize it, but these laws are in the process of being made/passed across the west. In my opinion, democracy is one of the world's greatest magic trick if not the greatest. I've read posts here talking about "third world" countries; their corruption and lack of "democracy", I found them a bit funny. I think those countries are no different from the west, unless one talks economics, which is down to decisions that were made centuries ago before the decay in the systems reached "visible" levels. Systems are corrupt and undemocratic everywhere, it's only that some systems have succeeded at convincing us; they are democratic, and the news media has been key to this success. If you pump someone/people with the same message continuously, they start to believe it - such is the power of the mind.

Waking up in the morning and accessing anything on the internet is also available in US and most of Europe. Google is not censored in China, they are just using a chinese version besides they are doing is to protect their national interest. Just like US and Canada is protecting their national interest by demonizing Muslims and to a certain extent black people

What makes you think freedom exists here. Do you know:
A thief can come to your home, threaten your family, steal everything and if he accidentally slips and falls on your property he can sue you and he will win
what the debt to income ratio of average Canadian as of 2015? $1.63?? $1.64?? This is what the government said 5 years ago and they are still harping the same thing while Canadians are drowning in debt
What is the actual unemployment rate, not the official, I admit I dont know cause the government has hidden the actual figure
What is the actual suicide rate, not the official? Government is hiding that from you
What is the actual figure for mental disease in Canada. No one knows. There is a reason the government is proactively funding mental health issues recently because most people are going mad.
The list goes on and on so its not entirely correct that freedom exists here. Yes you have the freedom to explore your sexuality and no one is going to say anything. Today you could be gay, tomorrow straight, and day after bi, tri, trans, lesbian-trans, etc etc. Try excising your freedom to defend your property from a criminals......Good luck!

Where and how does this money gets invested, and whited out? The Canadian property market makes it all very easy.

You should look closer to home on this one. The Saskatchewan Starlight Tours (aka 'Freezing Deaths') are actual documented incidents. You have suffered little compared to what goes on in such situations.

Whether your statement is true or not, I'm not sure. However, this isn't unprecedented in North America. Miami wouldn't have grown to the city it is today if it weren't for drug money. But...Miami had one of the highest crime rates in America while drug money was being funneled there. I haven't heard of similar things from Vancouver.

The government is not hiding suicide or mental illness rates. If they truly wanted to hide something, they just wouldn't publish it like most other governments don't. What exactly do they stand to gain by all of this?

The only way you can control large population of humans is to keep them in a state of confusion. Ever seen heard of sheep? Heres my 2 cents.

I have a great appointment at Middle East when I came to this country.
Awesome salary, TAX FREE! Great house, good car, great Job.

All I can say is fcuk! Whats the matter with me? I shouldn't left my job there. I should have returned the moment I set foot on this rock.

I also observed keenly that people think immigrants will settle for jobs no one here will take. Well, are people out of their minds?
Why the heck have an immigration process that wants rich professionals here, and not have them have their merit?
So its either of the two, the feds needs the economy infused by funds so it gets the ball still rolling, or have professionals to work in their field to fill up positions that are vacant.
But what happens is the buddy system. You have this highly skilled world class immigrant that a local are not in par with experience, and then they said you need a Canadian one and do some school at a university before you get hired in your field.
What do you think the result will be?
A pissed off immigrants waiting for that passport to arrive so he could leave and have a decent job somewhere.
It'll result in a brain drain. Thus the country needs more immigrants. Its a freaking cycle.
There are tons of countries out there that will welcome you for your talent and skills.

You know the funny thing about this discrimination. I applied as a cop in one of them cities knowing they allow new comers in. But the moment they had my application they've changed to you must be living here for several years b. s.

Confusion or fear. Everyone is always being told of terrorism, and how terrible it is. The media blasts information at us day after day, information cherry-picked to ensure that people are always scared, always suspicious of their neighbours. I can't believe that the US of A, which invaded Iraq based on information, nay, and assumption, found later to be absolutely false (in spite of having been assured by France that there were no WMDs in Iraq); that the same US of A now doesn't have the wherewithal and ability to go in and wipe this so-called terrorism once and for all. There's plenty of countries that would help, quite willingly, in any way they can. Why doesn't the US do it?

So if all governments do this, why are you bringing it up as if it's specific to the Canadian government? And I still don't see how hiding mental illness rates benefits the government at all. Sounds like more half-baked conspiracy theories to me.
