Well hallo everyone :)

First please ignore incurrable mistakes in my Engrish, I´m not much used to write in English so far...

It´s pretty hard for me to say but it seem´s I´m goint to leave my country. I´m from Slovakia and I must say I love my country. It´s beautiful, full of nice people but little low advanced, we had 40 years of communism and I can still feel it´s consequences... I was thinking what to do after college and always wanted to live in city that is similiar to mine: Green, beautiful, romantic but more - far more! economically advanced. We have very few good universities around here and none good :) . I studiet in Prague - capital of Czech republic. It´s economy, social life and intelligence is far better, however still postcommunistic. ... I was once having shover when I got brilliant idea: to move to Canada . Since then I call it Shower idea :) . I tought abou Norway before, but I don´t know Norwegian. And that could be a problem since my intentions are to settle some business. I have great idea now I´m looking for city to realize it.

And thus I´m getting to the point:

Could you please recommend me some city in Canada that is green, located in the middle of mountains and big enough / at least 500 thousand people/ ? Or some small town that is located close to such city? / several dozens to hundreds kilometers? /

for comparison here are some photos of my town... I´m looking for something similiar, it´s very important for me!!!

I wanted to post some pictures of my town and surroundings but system doesn´t allow me to do it... So if you would like you can type to google "ružomberok panorama" and you will see what I mean...

I believe there are many beautiful romantic towns/cities in Canada, for thank you very much for helping me with my isue!

All of the major Canadian cities are not located in the middle of mountains. Calgary is a major city located at the foothills of Rocky Mountains, while those cities that Peter Rabbit mentioned are not even close.

Canada has some beautiful scenary, however most Canadian cities, all the major ones are not beautiful. Very dirty for the most part, lots of trash, dirty bus and train stations, broken roads, ugly decaying buildings, lots of ugly run down houses. Outside of the small wealthy parts most Canadian cities are dumps, Hamilton, Sudbury, Montreal, London, Edmonton, Calgary, Regina, Winnipeg, all dumps. Even large parts of Toronto and Ottawa are dirty.

If you want beautiful clean and romantic try Switzerland, now that place is heavan on Earth.

I hope your idea of Canada is not distorted by watching movies and listening to people who only say positive things about Canada, also hope you are not under the impression Canada is some sort of heavenly utopia, the reality is very different here. Having said that I seriously hope you don't have the same experience as Charlotte, a member in this forum who came from Netherlands full of hope and positive energy but was completely shattered and depressed, she finally returned back home.
