This query is actually for me and my friend's situation.

I am currently with a Live-in caregiver work permit. I will be passing my application for Open work permit and PR this month. I am just concerned cuz my Visa expires on Oct 2015 but my current work permit expires June 2016. is there a need for me to get a new Visa whilst waiting for my open permit and PR?

My friend is also a Live In caregiver. She had to change employers and now she found another employer who can sponsor her. Her Visa is expiring by Oct 2015 as well, does she need to get a new Visa to continue working here?

I'll help with your second question: To change employers, your friend's new employer needs to obtain a new LMIA and then your friend has to obtain a new work permit. She cannot start working for the new employer until she has a new work permit.

so a new work permit is sufficient enough to stay as a caregiver working in canada eventho the visa is expiring soon?

1. Yes. The TRV is only required to enter Canada,.
