Visa application before an inland spousal sponsorship

Hello everyone,

I am a Canadian citizen. I want to invite my girlfriend in canada on a tourist visa. The plan is then to get married here and then apply for her PR through Inland sponsorship.

I have few concerns about the visa application and Inland sponsorship :

Visa application :

1. What should i write in the invitation letter? (do i tell them that she is my girlfriend,
we are planning to get married in Canada and apply her PR through Inland sponsorship)

2. What should i say about my relationship with her in the letter of invitation, should i mention she is my girlfriend or just friend?

3. is it better for someone else to send the letter of invitation instead of me (is it ok if the person who sends the letter do not have any family ties with her)?

4. If we do not tell them the whole truth, will that affect the PR application later (because we are planning to get married maybe 1 week after she arrives)?

Inland sponsorship :

1. When we apply for the inland sponsorship, we can apply for an OWP too from what I read, can she stay in Canada with the OWP approved even if her visa expires?

thanks

Let me tell my scenario.
We both were betrothed last June and married last October. After the betrothal, I applied for visitors visa for my spouse. I told everything in the application, such as, we were betrothed, we will be marrying in October, sent pictures of betrothal, our chat transcripts, call history, wedding invitation, etc. basically all information and documents that would prove our relationship is genuine.

In the invitation, I said that Niagara is our honeymoon destination and both of our dream to celebrate it there. Sent some proof of hotel booking, flight tickets (with return), etc. and we ended up celebrating there which was again helpful for the Spousal sponsorship.

I believed in being truthful so that you don’t have to cover up your mistakes later. Even though the visa is rejected, you don’t have to worry as you gonna say the same when you gonna sponsor her. Now we are together inCanada and filed her application recently.

And for OWP, yes she could stay here.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply kprs_ind.

If I understand correctly you said you will be getting married in Canada and then she will return back to her home country ?
What I was planning is invite her here, get married and then apply for the inland sousal sponsorship so that we can stay together during the process.

No, I said that we will be getting married in the home country, come for a honeymoon in Canada for which I requested Visa for. Also mentioned that I will sponsor her a PR, didn't say whether inland or outland.

But in your case, I would suggest to say that you will marry, spend honeymoon in Canada and she may return back (don't even have to say about it). Also mention you will sponsor her Spousal PR. Plans may change once she travels which you can say when questioned why didn't she go back.

Hope it helps. This is just my two cents. Truth is better than misrepresentation later in the application.

Hi friends,
I have a similar request. let me write down my scenario(with future plan) and ask my questions. Hope i will be guided here :)

I am a canadian PR.
Recently my marriage is fixed. the girl is from India.
There was no formal engagement happened as i was not in India during that time.
Marriage will be held in India by June 2018.
I wanted to bring my wife along with me after marriage to Canada.
I am planning to apply a Visit Visa first, bring here along with me to Canada after marriage.
Apply for Spousal PR along with OWP.

My questions now:
1. Can i apply for her visit visa by putting an invitation from myself. or can i ask any of my friends to send invite letter for her visit visa.
2. Once she lands canada on visit visa - how long will it take to get OWP & PR(considering i submit immediately after her arrival)
please advise
regards
sai

1. Yes, you could and I would recommend to tell the true story. Since you were not present physically in the engagement ceremony, it will be difficult I would say. You can look for others recommendation.

2. OWP expectation is 4 months and PR within 12 months. The timeline varies by case to case.

Hello, this is my first time posting on here, My bf is about to apply for PR which i'm hoping he will get...after which we plan on getting married next year, he will land and return to get married (if he gets the PR).

We are trying to plan ahead and figure out the best line of action for me to come join him (this is all assuming he gets the PR) . Do i:
1. I get a tourist visa before we are married, visit Canada and return to home country with him....get married ....then apply for another tourist visa(assuming the initial one would have expired) then apply inland after getting to Canada.
2. Wait till we get married before applying for a tourist visa, then apply inland after getting married
3. Can he write the letter of invitation when he has gotten his PR or do we get a friend to write it?

also, in the application for a tourist visa , do we make it known that we plan on applying for inland spousal sponsorship when we get to canada , will being married and letting them know this cause the application for tourist visa to be rejected?

Hi, I am new on this forum. I had a couple of questions, hope someone can help me regarding the inland application.
I am a permanent resident and just recently got married outside of Canada, but my spouse already had visitor visa for Canada.
Questions I had
Can my wife visit me, I haven't sponsored her yet, Basically I want to sponsor her once she is here, so she is eligible for working in Canada during the time, her application is being processed.
If she visits me, are Immigration Officer going to ask her, why we haven't applied for sponsorship yet?

I am in the same situation too. and whether my wife resign from work before coming to Canada or after? as her final settlement wil not be done if she resigns from here
