Hi guys,

One question - When we could submit our passports in person for stamping in Vienna office? Some forums say from Monday-Thursday, some only on Tuesday and Thursday. Thanks in advance

Here is a thread with interview questions other people have been asked.

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/this-is-a-list-of-what-they-ask-in-the-interview-very-important-read-it-t12122.0.html

And yes a refusal is definitely possible. Most of the time people are asked for an interview if the Visa officer has concerns about whether or not the relationship between the sponsor and the applicant is genuine. You might want to bring additional proof of your ongoing relationship to the interview such as phone call logs, Skype logs, Chats, Text Messages, Letters, Airplane tickets from visits, photos etc.

If your relationship is genuine you should not be afraid of the interview.

Mine is on Jan. 22, 2015, another member's husband will have his in a few days from now. I'll tell you guys all about it when my time comes up. In the meantime, I'm looking forward to see how the Dec. interview of one of our forum members will go (sorry, I totally forgot who it is that's up this Dec.!)

Like soucyyyy said, if your relationship is genuine, you have no worries. Just be yourself, stay calm and collected, and bring all updated communication evidence with you. You'll be fine =)

I'm pretty sure almost everyone in the Vienna thread is in a genuine relationship (at least I hope so.)

For Viber: There is a option on the settings were it says email message history and it gives you the apportunity to email your messages to your own email address. What I basically did is after sending to my email I copy and pasted messages in Ms word document and printed them.Translated the best ones and included in the application.

For skype I have no idea .since I don't use it.

Does anyone know if CIC accepts the printout of viber messages as proof of communication?

Someone was asking how to ""save Skype messages"" Very simple. Download small program. Run it... it will find your log files. Hi-light all and save , it just a text file. which you can print. runs on Windows Windows 2000 and up to Windows 8 don't worry about command lines. it is all automatic.

Program http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/skype_log_view.html

Also the question on possible Vienna Interview are for Married couples, many of us are common law or conjugal the wedding questions, wouldn't apply to us. Also the links further down are from 2010 and have all expired.

Cic will accept any documents that would proove your genuine relationship.

My wife received her COPR and Visa (From within Canada) after filing in vienna, only problem was we received the Visa and COPR on Dec. 9th, 2014 with a validity date of dec. 4, 2014 (probably tied to original medical). however on Nov. 13th, 2014 we had a second medical done and sent in, but seems that they didn't upload.

of course we've written earlier this week to Ottawa CPC and Vienna office, to our MP, Minister of immigration, etc...

Section 5.28 of the CIC OP manual state that they need or should have via the officer extended the medical otherwise basically a redundant step now in having to write to Vienna and Ottawa and wait the standard 2 to 3 weeks for them to reply.
Extremely frustrating process, and just hoping they reply soon

Hi, is there any reason why they invited you for the interview? There are so many people that did not get the interview invitation, and I am trying to understand who is likely to get interview who is not....

The best way to find this out would be probably to order GCMS notes as the notes contain the officers evaluation of the application.

its all up to officer who is reviewing application, if there is not enough evidence about reteltionship he will call for interview

Hey everyone - first time poster looking for some advice.

I am a Dutch citizen applying for PR in Canada under family class via my spouse as my sponsor.

I just received an email from the Vienna office requesting my submission of my passport as well as recent passport photographs.

My questions are:

1) Since the Netherlands is a country which does not require a visa to travel from, it says I can send a "photocopy" of my passport, but it does not mention if this copy needs to be notarized?
2) They only need a copy of my passport, not that of my spouse/sponsor correct?
3) It says provide passport photographs of both "yourself, your spouse" - to clarify - do they only need my photographs or those of my sponsor as well??

Thanks so much!

Hi and welcome. I got the same e-mail about a month ago and had the same questions. So:
1. Just send a copy of the passport, the page with biometric data. You don't need to notarize it as far as I know. (I had to send actual passport).
2. Your sponsor is a Canadian citizen (or PR), so you just need to send passport copy for yourself (and dependent children if you have any).
3. Same goes for photos, send only your photos, as per instructions for PR card.

Good luck, you're almost there :D
