Well, in the e-mail they send you requesting your passport it says they will ship it back to you within 7 days of receiving it, but it is usually a day or two after they receive it. So, plan on 7 days max + shipping time on the way back.

we received our COPR dated Nov. 18th, 2014, however with a Dec. 4th, 2014 validity date, at first we thought this was a typo, but after some research it appears that perhaps our Medical expired for my wife (i'm the sponsor).
We had a second medical done in Nov. 13th, 2014 as we knew it was expiring, however we didn't read the fine print that the medical expiration date is tied to the Landing date, not just the COPR date....

now we're scrambling to get a NEW COPR issued from vienna, we've submitted the updated medical with umi barcode , and are hoping that this resolves the issue and that we can get a new COPR letter from Vienna so that we can forward onto CPC Ottawa for processing with my wife's passport (as we're in Canada already), and then book our appointment with CIC for landing....

Does this sound like the correct process??

Guys, does anyone have any experience taking out a PRTD (travel document) from Vienna??? My husband never traveled since he landed in Canada back in 1989, and his parents never had PR cards done for them. This is the first time he's applied for one, but it's been a year and had to redo the PR app three times because CIC lost half the documents the first two times. The third time was, like the other times, marked URGENT, but it's been 2 months now and CIC said they have no idea where his app is, again... the officer last night literally said "It's probably sitting on someone's desk."
An expedited/urgent application that's been lingering for a year now shouldn't be sitting undocumented on someones desk... this is beyond ridiculous. To top it off, the CIC officer he spoke to said to NOT travel without his PR card or he'd have huge issues.
As far as we're concerned, from the info we've gathered from lawyers and other people, getting a travel document when arriving in Vienna is no problem at all. He can't just wing it, he's gotta get back to work after taking the month off, and can't risk being stuck in Europe more than that.
I posted this question to the PR threads on here but no answer yet. I just want him here for Christmas and to come to the interview with me on Jan. 22... I need his mental support, I know I'll have a rock off my shoulders if he's with me. I can't take this anymore.
CIC needs a darn overhaul.
(He emailed Vienna last night, vienn-visa@international.gc.ca, hope that was the right email address for general inquiries. Please lemme know if we at least got that right.)

Thanks!

Sorry to hear about it, but unfortunately I have no idea how to help. All I can do is tell you that the e-mail is correct, but he may do a case specific inquiry using this form: https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/case-cas-eng.aspx?mission=vienna&_ga=1.135436209.1431201804.1412712618

In your case, I would try the case specific, too, because I sent a few very important e-mails to the general one, and they never replied or they replied after I e-mailed them again after a month quoting that it has been a month and I didn't get a reply.

Also, if you do a case-specific, write "URGENT" at the beginning of your e-mail, because that is the only way they will reply quickly, or else it will take them at least 2 weeks or so.

Good luck, hope someone else can help with the important part of your question...

thxs,

You must land in Canada before the expiry date, which appears on your Canada Immigration Visa. Usually, the expiry date is one year from the time medical examinations were completed. As this is not always the case, be sure to verify the expiry date as soon as you receive your Canada Immigration Visa.
PS hope this answer ur question, since ur are in canda u could went to anz immigratio office.

Unbelievable :S I sent my passport to Ottawa to finalize my application on last Wednesday, with Xpress post, and the tracking number never appeared in the system. Now Canada post doesn't know where my passport is, was it delivered or not.

Does anyone know any way to contact CPC Ottawa to check if they received my passport, please?
They have to receive it within next 10 days according to the email I got :S
