Just to warn everyone about new medical proceeding.
HIV and syphilis tests are no longer included in price and will be charged separately.

2ndly if you have body piercings or tattoos, they will run Hepatitis B & C tests on you and charge you extra.
i suggest you taking all your piercings out prior to exam-nothing u can do about tattoo.

luckily i am vaccinated against hep b so did not have to undertake the test as i could proove it.

total fiasco- new regulations as of Dec 1,2012

m also from germany... but Resident. if Interview is required .. then only place would be VIENNA... are you EU National or Resident??

Yeah unfortunately if an interview is required it will be in Vienna. Hopefully none of us need one though! I am already in Canada, that would suuuuck .. and be expensive!

I am not one hundred percent sure if the place I went to did the HIV and hep tests. Is that by blood? The place I went to was awful. I have a tattoo too and she just asked if it was done professionally and I said yes and that was it. My "physical exam" consisted of me lying on a table underneath my own clothes because I suppose they didn't have sheets and she patted me down and that was that...

Oh and when I asked for copies of my results because they wouldn't simply tell me, They charged me $1 a page

They stripped me down naked (completely) than when they saw tattoo and piercing started talking about hepatitis tests. That was after they told me I had to go to different hospital for bloodwork and pay extra.
i told them i was vaccinated and they told me to fax proof (which I did). Meanwhile price went up 100$ for medical exam this yr, but last yr HIV and Syphillis were included(and also shipping & handling) ...while this yr had to be pay extra at different hospital. I also had to go 15 km to third hospital to get xray done, yet new thing not just for chest but heart as well.
Total costs are almost 500$ (with DHL shipping which is a must now).
Last yr it was 200$ all included. YUCK

I'm not sure where German residents make their interviews. I'm Macedonian and I did my interview in Prishtina Kosovo. I think they organize in the nearest IOM office. IOM is international organization for migration.

I don't know if you remember me we spoke sometime ago. My wife is from Gevgelia. You said you had an interview in Pristina. Was that something that you chose. I mean did they gave you this choice?.
'I am asking just in case my wife is asked to go it will be a good thing if she doesn't have to go to Vienna. Did you drive there?

Ps. My consultant fired off an email to Vienna regarding my 67 day wait for an AOR! Lol lets hope they reply with something positive! Fingers crossed.
