Dear mssenger I am still not getting what is SA and what is AOR... to my knowledge SA is when the SPONSOR application is approved... and AOR is receipt of documents at concerned place, RIGHT??

You are right.

SA is sponsorship approval
AOR is acknowledgement of receipt ( so when cic or the visa office emails you that they did indeed receive your application)

Nope. 66 days and counting and no AOR from Vienna. A bit odd.

Hmm this is peculiar! Normally from checking spreadsheets, Vienna sends an AOR in approximately 30-40 days after SA (file transfer)
You do have more than 2 months now. What about E-cas?

check ur spam mail.. may be u got an email there... if u find nowhere.. better email them by putting FILENo. as reference or call your Sponsor and ask him/her to call directly to Canadian Immigration office in Canada, they will definitely tell the status of your application...

ECAS will not say APPLICATION Transfered (i.e VIENNA)

Ecas just says application received January 22 (at CIC obviously) and medical results received. It has been like that since the sponsorship approval (Feb 19).

I have a consultant so I do not get the emails directly but my consultant emails me within half an hour of getting emails regarding my case, he's been good that way. I have spoken to him and he said not to worry and that he will let me know ASAP if he receives word from Vienna.

Newpal, I actually live with my sponsor here in Canada (I'm very lucky!) but calling Canadian immigration in Canada won't help me. They have sent out the file to Vienna Feb 19, so if anything I could call Vienna or send a Case Specific Enquiry. I think I might wait till the 3 month mark hits, which is when the website says you may enquire about your case.

I have some other stuff to figure out before then anyways. I have an appt with the Dutch Embassy to get my passport in May. (we sent our application with an expired passport) So when the three month mark hits I will be able to ask them (if I haven't heard anything) what is up with my file and I can notify them about having my passport. You never know, maybe they put my case aside because of the passport? My consultant did ask for an exemption on it. Oh well ! What can you do. I try not to get too down on myself about it, seeing as I see my man every night and some of you have been apart for so long! I don't know how you do it !

I know but in the sponsorship approval email we got it said my application will now be transferred to Vienna. This was February 19

this may be the reason that your file has been put on hold... or otherwise Vienna has not yet touched your file inspite of receiving it....better you wait and once you get your psspt renewd then you will be in good position to ask!!!

I don't see why they would put it aside though. My consultant wrote a two page cover letter asking for certain exemptions and such and the passport was one of them. Explaining my situation and that the embassy needed a document called a Search of Citizenship, for which.. the average processing time was five month, before they can issue me my new passport. I received it within three months thank god. And my appt with the embassy is May 9. I should have my passport end of May! But basically they should know that we are most definitely working on it. It's not like we decided hey let's do it with an expired passport and see what happens!

It wasnt only the military backround , waitingf time , but also Vienna didnt work a lot because also Masse was waiting same like me , even is from Germany.
