As a Dutch person you don't need a Visa to enter Canada. You CAN get some trouble at the airport if you are trying to fly on a one way ticket, but you can usually talk your way out of it if needed. In the worst case, they will ask for a show of funds to prove you can afford a ticket back.

Canadian Border patrol won't give you much trouble since they can check the system and see how far you are into your immigration process.

Hi, yes
you can enter Canada in Vancouver, before getting COPR (than when you get it you can drive down to USA and back and do landing)

Still no news for me.

Visa expiring in 20 days.

McDutch,
Do you know when your backround checks stated what your ECass saying , from when is in process

In Process since January 3rd.

RE-Medicals and Payment received on March 15th.

well i was in process 3 months before i had the passport request, i think your process will finish soon , they dont need anything else

According to my MP they are still waiting for my security clearance from the "Third Parties" and they have no timeframe

no they dont have a time frame for the bacround checks ,my husband was in backround checks more than 4 months,it is realy long this process, i was waiting for the papers from February 2012, after a year ouir process is done .

It does take a lot longer if you have a military background. I don't have any of that, so i hope it will go a little faster.

my husband bever was in military , even in my country military doesnt exist , we send the prove right away , but they were close because it was christmas holidays, some and Vienna process is 10 months

Then why did they request a military booklet?

Because as you know in Ex yugoslavia was war, but in my country never was war, and they just want to make sure that he never been, we got this paper from ministry of defense in montenegro , because the military doesnt exist any more

Ahh, yes, i can see why that would complicate things.

Oh well!

Nothing i can do at this point

McDutch i know how are you feeling , i lost patients last couples months, honestly it is really hard and long waiting process

By "third parties" do you mean the RCMP / Canadian government? have you lived in any other countries besides Holland or Canada?

I'm in a similar situation, only have lived in my country and then in Canada last two years on a work permit. My spouse and I are going back to Europe for the summer in mid-may and we are hoping that we get COPR before we leave Vancouver, so we can just drive down to the border and land before we leave for the summer. That would allow us to get the three-month wait for medical coverage started while we are away so we wouldn't need to pay private insurance since we would be in Slovakia anyway, and just generally make life easier and less stressful getting it all finished before we leave.

we have been "in process" since early February and just yesterday sent them the first email asking for an update since receiving AOR more than 3 months ago. Hope to hear from them.

Some of the times on the Vienna spreadsheet are crazy. AOR to PPR in less than a month :o ? Anything specific about these or is it just random?
