for my wife, it says "decision made" and when i click it.. it says that the office will contact you concerning this decision... is that what you got?

Yes, that's what we got plus Home adress has been added above, do you have that too? Did you get an email asking for copy of passport? I didn't, just heard that some VOs require once more copy of passport.

Glad to hear that things are moving along well for you guys!

I am worried about a complicated scenario and I dont know if it would cause any confusion:

My wife is a German citizen and she has been living with me in Canada since Official marriage ceremony took place in May 2012. In the sponsorship forms we have selected our canadian Home adress as her Current Adress and also same canadian adress as her Permanent Adress (as my wife is living with me permanently and thats her adress). Now we have no German adress on file for my wife but I still choose the ""Outside Canada Sponsorship" because its faster.

How would our case proceed and could this cause any confusion? :(

Hey gutto,

That's exactly what we are doing too. I'm German and I'm the applicant, and I've been in Canada since April 2011. We got married in March 2012 and sent our application in May.

No need to worry, we are allowed to file outland while residing in Canada.

Good luck to you!

yeah, you can do outland and be inside of canada... my wife has been here with me the last 7 months with our son... she got a DM yesterday actually.. I had to do an extension of Visitor for her because her 6 months were up.. but that doesn't even matter any more now that it's all done... I had to do it so she could legally stay until everything is completed... The only thing that you risk, is if you had an interview then you may have to fly across the world for it... however, with an outland app.. if they don't approve you.. you have the right to appeal.. which you don't with Inland Apps... so that's another plus (just incase).

hey ocanadaguy, we also just recently applied for extension of hus visitor's visa, 80$ spent, but that's ok, his visa is only valid for a couple of few days more...do you think we will receive the letters about copr before xmas?

it's right around the time of christmas.. you know post offices close certain days, I'm thinking it'll be after boxing day, and between new years.. perhaps you will get it though :) I seen that Canada will take another $200 from us when our spouses have been here enough days for residence status :) and then, it's over :) and if your visitor visa were to expire (date on spouses passport)... and you go across the boarder for some reason.... it's good to bring all your paperwork with you and a copy of the receipt you used for visa extension... I didn't do that (i only had an email with me)..... luckily the lady at the airport looked into my wifes file number and my UCI number and let her back into canada.. we just went shopping at the boarder.. she said in our situation, always bring evidence.. and if we had.. she could have given us the visitor extension right on the spot... even this way.. she re stamped my wife's passport an additional month.. to December 15th :) lots of little things you learn along the way :)

"Dear Sir,

We have finalized your case. The necessary document is on the way to you. It left our office on 18/12/2012 by registered mail.

Re: VIENNA OFFICE Stats

Hi all Merry Christmas

Can anyone here tell how many cases (family class) are handled approximately in the Vienna Office during a year?

All the best

I don't know. I assume it has gotten significantly more since they restructured responsibilities between embassies last spring (e.g. Berlin no longer processing applications and Vienna now responsible for German applicants), though - so past statistics may also not be very helpful.

So you got your AOR in May and haven't heard anything since? Or have they been requesting additional documents in the meantime? I'd be curious to know how long it took after they started processing the application until they were in touch with you first.
