Welcome to the thread! And congrats to your AOR. Let's hope we'll have more news from Vienna this week.

Thank you! :) I'm crossing my fingers for more AORs and hopefully PPRs for the earlier months!!

Wish me luck that I can stay in Canada until everything's done and I can land.. :)

Hoping that Vienna is waking up from their summer hibernation now and starts working on AAALLL our applications!!!

I have an update after 4 months of waiting. VO started to process my application on September 5, 2012.

We received your application for permanent residence on February 9, 2012.

We started processing your application on September 5, 2012.

Medical results have been received.

Hi Franzi,
where did you send the visitor extension application to and is this the correct link to the application form?

Wann laeuft Dein jetziges Besuchervisum ab? Weisst Du, wie lange vor Ablauf man die Verlaengerung beantragen sollte?
Danke Dir.

thats great to hear! i hope it means you get your visa soon! cause if it would mean they just started the complete process just now, it would be rediclious >< i heard if it changes to "in process" the end isnt far anymore, they completed your background checks i think and its all about a decision on your relationship now. Good luck!!!!

Monikita, I think that's really good news! Following other VO threads, you should get your PR soon! Does your ecas status now say 'in process'?? Did you get an email from them stating your change in status? Or only your online status changed?
Thanks and congrats :)

Thank you for your congrats. Yes, my ecas status says in progress now. I haven't received any email so far... I am a bit afraid that they started processing my application on Sept 5 which would mean they haven't even started background checks :(. Maybe I will have to wait a few more months before I get my PR??

I dont think so, so far ecase often updates late and they already have done something before ecase changes, you already went though this 3 month time range they mention in the AOR, they probably have completed most of the background checks, i think its positive and you will hear of a decision soon. Only if theres something unclear about your case it might take longer, i dont know your case....but if its nothing complicated, it wont take long anymore.
Besides that, if it would really mean, that they just started now to work on it, it would be awefull >< i dont believe they work THAT slow, would be very bad news to all of us.....then no one would receive a visa this year anymore. I think they still work in that time range they did starting this year and last year, mostly arround 4-5 months or even a bit earlier even if they had some delay between and with 4 months now you fall into that time range.

I think it's a great sign that you now see 'in process'. I believe the next email you get will be your PPR!

As far as I know, if they say they started processing the application on a certain date, then background checks have not been done yet. They wil not do the checks before they started processing it. The checks are a part of the process. So they will start the checks from Sep 5., not before that. AOR just means, that they have received the application.
BUT:
that does not mean, that you won't get your PR fast, I remember there was someone from the VO Vienna who got his PR within a week after they started processing it. It really depends on each case.
