Hi Sabaniga - My hubby received his Vienna AOR 26 days after the Ottawa-Vienna transfer. We have been waiting for nearly 6 weeks since and no PPR, no 'In Process' status, no additional documents requested. It's stressful!

Thanks for the reply Bobbi. So a letter in the mail?

The wait is horrible. First this incredibly long stage 1 process, and now it seems that time is standing still.

I leave in 3 weeks with my 2 small kids. My wife will have to wait until Vienna finally opens her file. It is frustrating and stressful. And frankly I am scared as hell. I just wanted to move back home with my family. And now we have to seperate and have no idea when she will be able to join us.... I am a bit depressed about it.

No, he received AOR through email, as we provided an email address. Is your wife from a visa-exempt country? If so, she can travel with you and your children and stay in Canada until she receives her PPR. If not, then it's difficult and the wait continues...

Email is good. That's how we got sponsor approval too.

Yes, she is, but as the main bread-winner, she needs to work. And coming to Canada to wait around not knowing when....we can't do that financially. And she couldn't do that mentally either, she is a worker.

But the tickets are booked, house ready, everything here in Germany has been cancelled. No going back, or pausing now. We knew it could come to this, and so I guess we have to wait it out. Like the rest of us in the forum. As angry, frustrating, sad as it makes me, it's not like Vienna or Canada cares.

So now I can join into the wait with the vienna office, my hubby received the email for sponsor approval today :-) and my file is transfered to vienna. Hope they process fast >< and good luck to all that are waiting to now!!!

I have landed yesterday :) Finally!! The process at he Pearson airport was really smooth and fast :) Good luck everyone still waiting!

you don`t have to worry, they had Canada day Holiday so add one more week for the AOR , it usually takes 2-3 weeks

Thank you :) when did you get the AOR and when did you send your application? If you already got an AOR it shouldnt take to long to hear of the approval soon. We got no AOR at all, my husband just got the approval by email.

Well, it seems like the timing is really unpredictable. We received AOR on July 10, application was received on June 1. We are the only June people having received AOR so far, according to the spreadsheet.

oh i see youre one of the june people, then i guess it might take still a bit till you get sponsor approval, since they really seem to try finishing april and may, well they have to, its only fair! Still its good to know, you recieved AOR especially cause youre even from the end of june. Your application is there and they will look into it as soon as they get to june. Dont worry, i know it needs a lot of patience and time is going by so slowly when you wait on something but you will get there and cic is working fast now.

I have a question for those of you who have already received PPR. We're at 6 weeks, 1.5 months, since AOR from Vienna received. No movement whatsoever; no 'in process', no email asking for extra documents, nothing. I know it's summer and most are on vacation, however do you suggest:
I email them now to ask what the deal is? or hold off until the 3 month mark, as stated in the AOR email to ask for status?
Thanks all!

I know the waiting stresses but with 1.5 months its still early. On the webside we are at 8 months or so for 80% of apps done for vienna. I know many get it in 3 or 4 months and some very few ones less than 2 months. Just wait at least 3 months. You already got an AOR of them right? So you know its there. We need again lots of patience for this stage too.

Yes, Tipha you are correct. However, when you receive the AOR email it states to contact them as soon as possible if you have not heard anything from Vienna within the 3 months after AOR. I'm assuming that within those 3 months they are to either request additional documents, or request an interview, or best case...grant you PPR. I'm half way from the 3 month mark and have not heard anything. This is why I asked if I should send an email now or wait after the 3 month mark. I guess I answered my own question, I'll just wait and hopefully hear something within the next 1.5 months...

Can any Vienna applicants suggest a good place for IMM photographs in Vienna, a place which does it right/perfect according to specification?

Please post if you're aware of any such photographer location in Vienna please. Thx
